Summary: A Little Sick, Maybe, But Funny, Funny, Funny!!!
Review: I've heard it said many times that humor is the most difficult form of writing. Don't tell that to HB Marcus. He's mastered it the first time out. If you want a fast paced read that has a laugh a line, read Crispy. Want imagery? Try this line from the book. "...I felt a sharp pain as if I had just passed barbed wire while uninating. As I sat doubled over in pain I watched them run out the door. A plastic bag followed them on the floor as Spider ran with his ankle wrapped in my catheter tube." Say "Ouch", then get an appointment with a doctor for some humor suppression pills because if you read Crispy, you won't be able to stop laughing without them.

Summary: Incredibly Zany! Mind Boggling Wild!
Review: Think the Terminator vs. Cheech and Chong. Charles Crisp, aka Crispy, is a brutal, efficient serial killer with no conscience whatsoever. Smoky and Spider are two drugged out nitwits. This hilarious story of what happens when these two totally different types meet will keep a smile on your face every page, and laughing so hard you'll have tears running down your face. As the plot twists and turns, Spider and Smoky slowly but surely stupid Crispy to death, without even trying. HB Marcus has a sense of humor that gives the terms zany and wild new meanings. You can readily see that he has dealt with the likes of Spider and Smoky before, and somehow lived to tell about it. Graphic descriptions punctuated with unbelievable scenarios make this a wild ride from start to finish. When you're done, you'll feel out of breath like you just ran away from an insane asylum. For anyone who likes outrageous comedy, this is a must!

Summary: It's like being on a roller coaster made of laughs!
Review: What do you get when you place a serial killer (who by the way, thinks he's a secret agent) in the midst of two hopelessly demented burnouts? Crispy by H.B. Marcus, is what you get.

Charles Crisp, secret agent extraordinaire, believes it's his job to rid the country of enemy agents. And when he crosses paths with Spider and Smokey, he mistakenly believes they too are enemy agents who've been sent to dispose of him. And from there on in, my friends, the game is on. As Crisp plots numerous attempts to murder the zany duo, Spider and Monkey are like a couple of cats with a few more than 9 lives. And the torture that Crisp endures for the amusement of these two would be scary if it weren't so darned funny! Imagine being told by your intended victims, "If you kill us I'm turning this van right around and taking you home!"....

For a definitely, different edge on humor that you've probably never quite experience before, grab yourself a copy of Marcus' book, Crispy. You won't regret it! But you will have a particular soreness around your midsection (from all the laughing you did while experiencing Marcus' roller coaster ride of laughs).
