Summary: Timeless Tales review
Review: By TT reviewer Jameela
Deputy Detective KC Tanner guards his private life much the same as his Doberman, Zappa, guards his home. He is content to live a life of solitude, hiding behind the wall he has carefully constructed around himself. He has known Shar since she was 9 and he was 24. She is his best friends little girl. He has always thought of her as a little sister. So why, now that she has come home from college looking VERY grown up, is he having very un-brother-like thoughts about her?

Sharalee MacArthur was raised by her father, Mike MacArthur Sheriff of McCreary County, after the tragic death of her mother. She has always known that KC was the man she would someday marry. Since her graduation from college, Shar has been serving McCreary County as a victim's advocate. She is hoping that now she has come home from college that KC will see she is no longer a little girl. That is, until reality shatters his isolation and dashes her hopes. A madman running loose in their homey little community has KC and Shar fleeing for their lives.

This is an excellent book. Rasey has included everything you look for in a true romantic suspense: romance, sexual tension, lies, mystery, murder and revenge. This book snagged my attention in the first gruesome chapter, and did not let go until the surprising conclusion. An unknown madman is killing people in very gruesome and gory ways. Rasey leads you to believe you know who is behind the murders, but with the revelation of each lie and subsequent mystery, you are sent down a different road leading to another possible suspect. Not only does KC need to solve this case, he also has to come to terms with his feelings for Shar. Because of the murders, they are thrown together on a professional as well as a personal level. The road Shar and KC travel to reach true happiness is a very rocky one; will their growing relationship survive to the end of this journey? Rasey has you guessing, "Who done it?" right up to the end and the conclusion is a surprise you will never expect. This is the first book of Patricia Rasey's that I have read and after reading this one I am eager to read her other books. I highly recommend this book to all romantic suspense readers and to anyone who likes a good murder mystery.

Summary: Surprise Ending...
Review: Deputy Detective KC Tanner was the only homicide detective in the small town of Pine Knot. Nothing big ever happened in the tiny community. That was why KC had left the big city and returned to his hometown. Pine Knot's sheriff, Mike "Mac" MacArthur, had once been KC's partner on the police force. The two had known each other for years. In fact, KC had watched Mac's little girl grown up into a lovely young woman.

Sharalee "Shar" MacArthur was the area's Victim's Advocate. Shar had a crush on KC since she was little. As she grew, the crush matured into love. Problem was that KC kept seeing her as a child and her father was keeping everyone away from her. It was up to her to show them both how wrong they were.

When tortured bodies began showing up, KC was naturally the one assigned to the case. But the only solid link between them all were that all the victims had been attached, in some way, to Sheriff MacArthur's deceased wife. What was a man to do when it looked as though his ex-partner and close friend might be a murderer?

**** Here is a wonderful detective thriller that will leave your head spinning. Every time I thought I knew who the killer was another twist came up that had me wondering all over again. There is even a surprise ending! Patricia A. Rasey is an author to keep your eye on. She gets better with each new story. Recommended reading. ****

Summary: FACADE rocks!!
Review: FAÇADE by Pat Rasey is a heart stopping, adrenaline-pumping novel that you dare not start at bedtime if you intend to be up in the morning. Addictive from the first shocking page, FAÇADE will reveal the dangers that lurk beneath the most innocent appearances.

A murder stalks McCreary County, paying back old grudges born through many years. The first victim, George Stanton, is discovered days after his death hung with his crime nailed above his head: ADULTERY. As McCreary County's only homicide detective, KC Tanner quickly finds himself working the case with Sharlalee MacAruthur, McCreary County's victim advocate. KC has spent months trying to avoid the attractive young lady, despite his desire for her, because she also happens to be much younger and the daughter of his boss the sheriff.

The day before the second body's discovered, KC sees the victim storming away from the Sherrif's office and heard the soon-to-be victim demanding protection. As the tangled threads of the story become gnarled, KC complicates his life even further by briefly giving into his desire for Sharl, despite his vows to stay away from her, and despite his suspicions that his boss has some hidden agenda regarding the case. When KC finds the Sherrif's deceased wife, and Sharl's mother, ties the victims together, as well as Black Magic crimson roses, the tangled webbing begins to unravel with unexpected results, leading to a past many would like to forget, including KC himself.

Rasey has an extraordinary talent for creating characters with depth and complexity, while weaving a quick moving plot that lures the reader into a world of murder and intrigue. Extraordinarily, Rasey can capture the essence of a brutal murder all the while maintaining a sexy, lusty subplot with sharp quips counterbalanced by grace. While all of Rasey's novels are hits, this is the best one yet, earning a very highly recommended rating an award from WordWeaving.

Summary: FACADE
Review: Façade: The front part of anything: often used figuratively, with implications of an imposing appearance concealing something inferior.

Be afraid, be very afraid! There is a killer on the loose and you had better hope that you have nothing in your past that may lead him your way. No matter what appearance you may present, he knows what is beneath that FACADE.

To wander down the streets of Pine Knot, Kentucky you would think it was another quaint little southern town. The people seem to live their lives much the same as any other small town. But beneath the FAÇADE, lives another world. A world of, secrets, lies, deception, and horror.

Deputy Detective KC Tanner is perfectly happy living his life as a confirmed bachelor. He is content living alone in his house with his Doberman, Zappa, and doing his job as a detective with the Sheriffs Department of McCreary County.

All of this, however, is being threatened by the sheriff's daughter, Sharalee MacArthur, who is determined to live out her childhood fantasy of her love for him. KC is doing everything he can possibly do to thwart Shar's advances, but it is getting more and more difficult as she is no longer the little girl he remembers. She came home from college a beautiful young woman. A young woman who will not leave him alone, although the age difference is too great in KC's mind. Not to mention that KC's best, and only friend, is Shar's father, Sheriff Mike MacArthur, known to all as Mac.

People are being murdered in the most horrendous ways. Ways that could possibly only mean revenge. But revenge for what? There has to be a common denominator that links these people together, and KC is determined to find out what that common denominator is.

At the same time KC has to convince Shar that he is not the man for her. He even takes to talking to the local minister of the church, Pastor Thomas Jackson about Shar, his physical attraction to her, and his past life, including the secret that he has kept. But it seems that no matter what KC does, Shar will just not give up. Finally he manages to drive her into the arms of another man, Sidney Kurtz. Very much to KC's surprise, seeing them together bothers him a lot.

However, KC doesn't have time to reflect on his unhappiness with Shar and Sidney being together, he has to solve the murders that are happening, and he has to do it soon before another one happens.

What is behind these murders? The common link seems to be Mac's dead wife, Alison Mac Arthur, Shar's mother. But who and what is the reason for this? Alison has been dead for almost twenty years. What is the secret that seems to be eluding KC? And who is behind all of this? He has to find out soon.

Ms. Rasey certainly has come up with a winner in FAÇADE. I could not put this book down. It had me completely absorbed until the last shocking pages. I had to find out what was going to happen in both the personal lives of the characters, as well as who was going to be killed next, and why. FAÇADE is completely addictive from the first page.

Ms. Rasey has created multi-faceted characters, and at the same time she has created a
super fast moving plot. She has captured the world of lies, deceit, intrigue, and revenge. FAÇADE is definitely a must read for its chilling account of the murders, the investigation, and the secrets that caused them. At the same time bringing into this horrific, and terrifying world love, friendship, and trust. It is amazing how she has managed to have two opposite plots run concurrently and mixed together to bring about a story that completely hypnotizes the reader.

FAÇADE is not only a spine-tingling murder mystery that will leave feeling cold to the bones, it is also a love story that will leave you completely breathless. FACADE is a wonderful example of Ms. Rasey's talent to blend spine tingling terror and suspense, with warm and sexy romance and love.

FACADE will keep you guessing. Even if you are clever enough to figure out who did it, which I don't think you will, you still won't believe the dynamite ending. It will leave you completely emotionally drained.

FAÇADE most definitely proves the old adage: What goes around comes around. And in this case when it comes around, it is deadly.

I definitely recommend that you get a copy of FAÇADE, take it home and lock the doors, turn up the lights, and settle in for a full night of terrific suspense, murder, and love. All mixed up in a great story that will leave you completely satisfied that you have visited the world of FAÇADE. You cannot miss with this wonderful book.

Summary: Pat Rasey has another big hit!!
Review: Few writers can match the suspense and creativity of Pat Rasey. Her stories all have me sitting on the edge of my seat, wondering what and who is going to turn up just around the corner that would add additional intrigue to the plot. Rich in story line and solid characters, Facade is not only well-written, but fresh and imaginative. I would recommend Facade, as well as Rasey's other stories, to anyone who enjoys a good read. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Facade Review
Review: McCreary County Deputy Detective KC Tanner has his work cut out for him. A gruesome killer is on the loose in his county, bent on torturing to death his chosen victims and displaying each of them in a unique and baffling manner.

Sharalee MacArthur is serving the County as Victim's Advocate. It is her job to deal with families of murder victims. The job is not easy, especially when having to deal with Detective Tanner. She's known him since she was a little girl, being the daughter of Sheriff Mike "Mac" MacArthur, KC's boss and best friend. Now she is all grown up and in hot pursuit of the handsome detective.

KC is running for dear life from a past that is haunting him and from the one woman consuming his soul, jeopardizing his sworn-bachelor status. Sharlee has succeeded getting under his skin and evenutally he realizes how important she is to him. So important in fact that he takes the risk of revealing secrets which may jeopardize their relationship, as well as his relationship with her father.

The case is taking its toll on all concerned. The few clues that are found, point to the one person KC can't believe is involved. So many secrets and lies float to the surface, shedding light on a past long forgotten and buried. Secrets that jeopardize new love, old friendships and the lives of the guilty. Not all are who they seem to be. Soon the killer focuses pent up rage on the ones hunting him, including Sharalee, who's life and identity are in danger of being lost forever. Only KC can bring all the clues together and save the woman he realizes he loves and can't survive without.

Pat Rasey grows more and more adept in intricately weaving a complex, layered plot with flawed, yet lovable characters and a love story that will melt your heart. FACADE is by far the best work Rasey has written to date. Not only is this book overflowing with heart-pounding suspense and fascinating details of police forensics, but also gruesome minutiae of sadistic murder. And the love scenes are so scorchingly hot that they'll melt the paint off the walls. The intensity of her approach to her latest prose matches that of Diehl and Harris, so the squeamish beware. The pacing is fast and the writing is perfect. Not one word is wasted nor a moment dull. Thriller devotees will be up all night, as I was, riveted to this page-turner. Pat Rasey demonstrates yet again, why she's become an author to reckon with. ........

Summary: exciting serial killer tale
Review: McCreary County Sheriff Mike "Mac" McArthur and his Deputy Detective KC Tanner find the missing George Tanner, a homicide victim who was tortured before he was killed. Both law enforcement officials are stunned by the amount of violence inflicted on George. More people soon die with the culprit customizing the killings and holding a county in abject fear over who will be next.

Mac's daughter Sharalee MacArthur works as the County Victim's Advocate. She tries to help families of murder victims deal with the tragedy they must confront. This is a tough emotional job, but KC, the county's only homicide detective, makes it that much more difficult to perform. His heart is stone cold protected from the outside by demons from his past, but she fantasizes that one-day he will love her like she does him. As the clues surface, the killer adds to the top of the revised list Sharalee, which leaves Kevin Charles panicked that the love of his life could be next.

FAÇADE is an exciting serial killer tale that provides grisly details of the murders through the eyes of the investigators. The suspense filled story line never misses a beat even with a romantic subplot. The hearts of the audience race at a rapid rate due to feeling the same fears of the residents (sort of like New York during Son of Sam terror) and ultimately that of the lead protagonists. Patricia A. Rasey writes a gritty police procedural that is as intense as the sub-genre can become, which in turn means a winner for fans.
