Review: A great read. Mr. Cucarese is a gifted story teller. I cared about the characters; the action was great; it flowed well; it was suspenseful with a number of twists and turns to keep you guessing. The narrative sections were very well written. The dialogue sections were good but not quite at the same high level as the narration.
I can see this converted to a screenplay for Hollywood or for a small independent movie producer to run with. It has the big city, the quaint small town, and believable characters. Harrison Ford, do you want to play Chief Miller?
I look forward to this author's next work and will recommend this one to friends.

Review: I've just finished reading BLACK RIVER and must say that Mr. Cucarese has done a very good job on his first work. His portrayals of the murders in New Hope make you feel like you are viewing the story first hand, and the chase in Trenton is pure nonstop action.

Review: I've love when I read a good book that no one else has picked up yet. I get to be "that guy". The one who tells everyone how good this no-name book is. And later, the one who reeps the rewards when they all come back to talk about it and ask what book im going to read next. Black River is my latest read and im sure it will make me "that guy" by next week. I don't think this author has anything else published yet, so i guess ill have to wait and see if he blows up, but a new unique twist in a familiar genre is hard to find.

Review: Reader from new hope I don't know about you but myself and the people that really love New Hope don't want to read a book about homosexuals being murdered. Sahsha was just giving her opinion, and here you are trying to bash her. I have read the book and did not find it impressive, what ever Mr.Cucarese's inspriration was he needs to find a knew one. As for his next book Steel Town which I would assume that its about the steel mill, how can he write this book when in his backround info. thats on the net, he only work there a short time. What would he possibly write about?

Review: Sasha, if you are an actual person, you may want to actually read a book before trying to dump someone's work. Besides, I want to see you write a book before you criticize someone else's ability. Also, the person in Florida. same goes to you. Read the book. It is a shame that you are commenting on a book that you have not even read. I know for a fact that the book has not even bought in Florida, except by two family members. Get a grip people. The book is written very well. If the editor of a New Hope paper thinks it is worth writing an article about, then guess what....it is definitely worth reading. Hey Sasha, if you really live in Lambertville, you would see, again by reading it, that it has plenty of the flavor of New Hope. BESIDES, the book is NOT about New Hope. It is about a MURDER THAT TAKES PLACE IN NEW HOPE.

For a first book, this author definitely has what it takes to write books. Although, this book may not be for everyone, it should capitivate the audience of mystery lovers. Go Mr. Cucarese. Keep writing.

Summary: Nonstop suspense!!!
Review: The characters in this book are culturally diverse. The story was fast-paced but it kept my interest until the end. It was hard to put down. The story read out like a movie...you could easily visualize the places and characters in this book. Being from the Bucks County area, it was interesting to read about places I know and have visited. This book is a must read. Very good for a first-time author.

Review: This was the absolute worst book I have ever read. I got real board, the author was not really focused when he wrote the book maybe he should try something else because this does not seem to be his calling in life.
