Review: This is a stunning book; heartbreaking, intelligent, and truly original. Stein's characters are completely believable, and he is not afraid to reveal their secrets. I'm impressed by the unflinching honesty of this book as it deals with a tough and contentious issue--race relations in America. This is Stein's third novel, and he just keeps getting better.
