Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Good historical mystery Review: I liked it! Easy read, engrossing from the first page. I appreciated the fact that the author wrote an exciting historical mystery without relying on gratuitous sex and foul language. Good story. Well written.

Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Nice, but trite Review: Nice concept, but how many times must a lonely man go through a trial and find companionship in the end? Often the woman is more important than the plot and an action book becomes a romance! Surely that theme is dead, especially in modern Christian literature. The overuse of "professional" and "spymaster" render the book somewhat annoying. The characters are idealized to the extreme. The message of the book, however, is obvious: ...

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great Combination of I-Spy, Archeology, and Love Story Review: The book was excellently done with a wonderful mix of intrigue, action, archelogy, espionage and a love story. The first chapter is brilliantly described, offering one of the most heart-pounding, edge-of-your-seat pieces of prose I have ever read. Scott Jones has a wonderful gift of using the English language to make the most minute details come alive in your mind - and isn't that why many of us love to read? The book appears to be well researched and I learned a good deal through the historical setting in which the archeological treasure of the main characters' focus is placed. It was a great read - and left wide open for a sequel. Hope he writes it soon!

Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Great concept - lousy execution, horrible characters Review: This book has such a great concept, but the way the author presented his characters is so bad. The writing itself is beyond criticism: no one talks or acts as stupidly as the characters in this book. This is a waste of time, a waste of a great idea, a waste of writing. 2 stars go only towards the concept, nothing else. This is a lousy author.
