Summary: romantic
Review: Ann Brandt has written an outstanding novel. This story is packed full of emotion as it helps you remember fond memories from your own past- especially of your first love. The story makes you laugh, and it makes you cry. The characters are very well developed- enough to think of them as your friends. This was one of the few books that I have just picked up at the bookstore and after reading the flap, I was hooked- and I remained that way through the entire book. I hope we will not have to wait long before Ms. Brandt has another novel for us! Please treat yourself to a relaxing day in Crowfoot Ridge. This is one I will not soon forget.

Summary: No Snoring for me, the book kept me up all night!
Review: Beautifully written. Compelling story with characters that were believable. I loved Ann's visual imagery and felt as if I was in the mountains of North Carolina or in South Florida. I particularly liked the way she wove the environmental issues of over development into the plot and contrasted this with the pristine beauty of the Carolina mountains. I could not put the book down. This book is a compelling read.

Summary: True love is like hardy bird toes

Review: Crowfoot is a ground pine shaped like bird toes. "If you put it in your pocket, you'll have good luck," says one of the characters in "Crowfoot Ridge".

This is the story of Avery, who lives in Florida with her family, but who really lives and grows up during the family's annual one month summer vacations in North Carolina. On Crowfoot Ridge, Avery learns her lessons about life, and love, lessons which include betrayal, and true love, and things that really matter in life.

The story goes back and forth between Avery, the child, and Avery, the adult in Florida, showing how the Crowfoot Ridge months made Avery who she is. Who IS Avery? She's a woman torn with a terrible secret, unable to rest until she tells the truth about what happened one summer month on Crowfoot Ridge.

This book kept me glued until the very end! The ending was so satisying, I read it over and over again. Read this book for the suspense, and a good story, and be prepared to shed a few tears!

Summary: Beautifully written, a book to treasure
Review: Crowfoot Ridge is an excellent story written by a charming woman, Ann Brandt. She masterfully deals with difficult subject matter, taking her reader on an emotional ride. I rarely read new novels that I would recommend to my mother, a finicky reader at best, but this one I did. And she adored it. I am looking forward to the next novel by this author.

Summary: Paragraph Poetry
Review: Dear Ms. Brandt,

Just tonight i have finally finished your wonderful novel entitled "Crowfoot Ridge". I can tell you now i have read many books, yours was very special to me. I live in South Carolina so it was a treat reading about the surrounding areas and being able to say to myself I've been there, or I've seen that place. I want to compliment you on your style of writing. You not only combined natural talent in creating a story but I found your words to be poetic at the same time. You combined two styles that I admire in writing, tall tale and poetry. Your words flowed together at times and created there own special paragraph poetry. It was lovely to read, I would recommend this book to anyone I come in contact with that shares a love of reading the way I do. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful talent. I will be looking foward to reading other works by you.

Sincerely A New Fan, Amy J. Brown

Summary: What a good read!
Review: I bought this book to read on a long flight. It started slow, so I put it down. I picked it back up after I got home and couldn't put it down again. There are so many twists and turns! The plot just kept getting thicker! The characters were easy to identify with and I could almost see their faces. I really enjoyed this book!

Summary: Many women share a similar tale.
Review: I was so delighted to meet Ann Brandt in person at our local Barnes and Noble. At the time I found her personality delightful and her joy for writing contagious! As a writer myself, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to speak with her and learn of the wonderful story behind her journey to publication and the miracle that made it a reality. I only wish I'd read the book before our talk. I would have loved to discuss this wonderful story with her!

Finally, finally I found the type of story I've been dying to read! There was no evil ex-husband, just a simple growing apart that happens to so many. There was a wonderful ecology lesson and an addressing of a real life problem in our world. I always enjoy being made aware of true life problems that should bother all of us! Not only that, but wrapped within this was a powerful love story and a powerful lesson in finding true love.

The writing was pure poetry and I read through it with lightning speed only to slow at the end simply because I didn't want to let these wonderful characters go. As a reader you will fall in love with Mars. The beauty of the setting as seen through Ms. Brandt's eyes will enchant you and allow you to wander through Avery's world with her.

This is truly a 5 STAR delight and a must read! Thanks Ann! I can hardly wait to read your next novel!

Sincerely,

Mary Gauden Hughes

Summary: Crowfoot Ridge is a book I will read a second time.
Review: There are not many books I will read twice---The Great Gatsby, A Dangerous Fortune, The Razor's Edge, to name a few stories I have read over and over. I received Ann Brandt's Crowfoot Ridge from Amazon.com on a Thursday and by Friday night I was finished. On Sunday afternoon I started on chapter one again, this time reading more slowly to catch and savor every nuance. Ann has a way of turning a phrase that the seasoned reader will appreciate and a new reader, or a novice writer, will want to mark with his or her yellow highlighter. Not only is the book well-written, but it is a fine and evocative story as well.

Summary: romantic
Review: This story is a great example of the teenage romance we all wish we could revisit as now adults. I do wish that Ann Brandt had written this story to be about 2-3 times longer though. The characters and their relationships could have been developed much more.
