Rating: Summary: Denise¿s Pieces Author Site & Book Reviews Review: Author Fran Robinson wants the reader to share a personal, yet tragic story of a young woman's hard life; from the innocence of teenage crushes to the ugly and brutal truth of mental, physical and emotional abuse. And so the reader is exposed to how Nadedge becomes swallowed up in psychological counseling and her efforts to relive and overcome prejudice and feelings of worthlessness.
Ms. Robinson write heartbreaking and personal accounts of Nadedge's journey, showing a great interest in sharing these brutally honest events written in 'journal type' entries so that the reader becomes, not judgmental, but grows in understanding and compassion of how things like this happen in relationships.
While at times, the author jumps from topic to topic in her paragraph-style entries, the reader nevertheless sees that this is how most people think; from a disjointed 'tickling' of feelings and thoughts to strong convictions. It Didn't Happen is an informative, eye-opening read into a topic that is still considered 'taboo' and more often than not is 'always her fault'.
Sobering yet hopeful, depressing yet encouraging, this is a story that needs to be told, and one that women from all walks of life and circumstance must read.
