Summary: Why did she wait so long?
Review: - - -

I can't imagine the devil on one side of a window and Jesus on the other side.

WHY DID GERDA WAIT SO LONG? So long to tell her dark secret? Gerda held many secrets in her heart. This book explains the mystery -- in a tale that keeps you wanting to read more and more. From the beginning to the amazing, revealing conclusion.

Based on a true story, I've Smashed the Devil's Window begins in Germany while it was in the midst of a severe economic depression. People were out of work and jobs were practically non-existent. It was a day-to-day ordeal just to survive and live. An Austrian corporal from the First World War decided to go to Vienna and live in the Bohemian culture. He was going to paint pictures for his living. In a few years, the German people would call him "Führer"!

EPILOGUE: Why, oh, why did she wait so long to tell her dark, hidden secret to a young English woman? I've Smashed the Devil's Window is the compelling story of a woman who,

through the most trying times, kept her faith. This is a MUST-READ BOOK for anyone who cares about humanity!

Summary: INSPIRING! PROVOKING! I didn't wanted the book to end!
Review: It is a real story filled with mistery and with a very clear message about our beliefs. In spite of the sadness and horror of the nazi regime I felt a thread of hope running through. I really enjoyed the story, the mistery and the message as well as the wordiness. It held my attention from the beginning to the end!

Summary: Truly outstanding, a real page-turner filled with suspense
Review: The author chose to document her real life experience in Germany after WWII in a most unusual book. The story revolves around the explanation behind a pane of glass taken from a picture frame and used to fill the space in a window, when in post WWII Germany glass was difficult to find, and windows were shattered from bombs. But, this glass is imprinted with images of the Devil and Jesus and the story tells of its impact on several lives. The tale is gripping and exciting and well worth reading. The author, P.B. Inness, writes with style and paints a portrait that leaves you thinking and wondering for days. Highly recommended.
