Rating: Summary: What a mix. Review: A clever variety of subjects rolled into one heck of a triple play. THE MISTY DINS intrigues the audience in a number of ways. From KREASHERDS KASTLE to DHEN DHEY NHO ISLAND to TEERTS EMASES to IN TEHN CITY to DEZ to MERK to THE SOCIETY to the families and so many other interesting and peculiar aspects, this story keeps a reader glued until the dramatic finale. SHEEP is also filled with memorable moments and quotes that stick in the mind. From KDL to The F.A.R.M. to CHARMS A THIRD to MEX THE SIXES to BUZZINGS to The memorable encounters of new and odd characters. THE CEMETERY FENCE is a masterpiece in its own right. Beginning with a youngster's life and surroundings and introducing the reader to a variety of special supporting cast, THE FENCE is revealed early on and its purpose is noticeable. Again family is a key to the main plot. THE FENCE makes the reader want to keep the book open without pausing for a moment. TRIFECTA OF SUSPENSE is a wild, spooky, and climactic adventure through a strange and questionable world of thoughts and visions.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant Review: Although I did not buy this book from this web-site, it is the only place I can express my feelings for it. I felt that I just had to after finishing it this past weekend. The whole thing was put together just brilliantly. From Book one to Book three. Book two, Sheep, was my favorite of the three. It is a bizarre, twisting, strange story that would make one heck of a movie. Actually all three would make great movies.
The concept of the three books in one was quite tasteful. And how each story had a small piece of one another in it was an interesting conception. I will take that format into consideration when I buy my next book.
I noticed that this site doesn't have a picture of the cover on it. That is too bad, because that is another interesting part of the book. This author seems to follow a trend with memorable covers.
Trifecta of Suspense left a lasting impression on me and I encouraged all of my friends to check it out.
Rating: Summary: The Misty Dins Review: I discovered this gem entitled, Trifecta of Suspense, while flipping through the pages of a recent edition of Foreword Magazine. I made a mental note to look into it on-line. Getting old is not good because mental notes come and go without being followed through on. Anyway, when I was flipping through the pages of The Bloomsbury Review weeks or months later, I came across the title once again. This time I wrote it down and put it in my purse. The next day I ordered it. So far I am pleased. I enjoyed The Misty Dins very much. I just finished it, book 1. I have 2 more to go and I will review them later. I can only hope they are as intriguing as The Misty Dins. The story is basically about a family that no longer lives in the same house. Both sons are very close to their mom and dad. One son a little more than the other, he is the one that ends up on the strangest merry-go-round of events that I ever heard of. The other son has his own problems to deal with and he occasionally calls on his brother to get him through. At one point I found myself angry about certain points, after thinking about the points, I was able to think beyond what I am used to and I realized that there is truth to the character that made me angry. I ended up agreeing with some of the points. Overall I closed the book with a good feeling inside and so far I recommend it to all readers. Everything is so intense throughout the first story, it makes you want to dive into the second one, and that is exactly what I will be doing tonight. Talk to you again soon
Updated 12/1/04 Sheep. I am back again. Here is an indication that I loved Book 2, I finished it just a couple of days after starting it. It was not easy to put down. Although my son who is in his twenties scolded me for reading material that had sware words in it, I still read it and enjoyed it very much. I think sheep was even better than the misty dins. It had even more things going on and quite bizarre things to say the least. Again the characters drew me in very deeply. My son (Mr. Double standard) loved it also. He wants to join The FARM. We have been speaking in sheep code since this morning. Once again, I recommend this book. (If I can handle a couple of sware words, most people can. Besides they were positioned where they should have been.) I got to go dive into Book 3 now. I have a good feeling about that one as well. Updated 12/22/04 Cemetery Fence I am back one more time to say that I absolutely loved the cemetery fence. For the third time I found myself trying to figure out where the journey was going to take me. Once again I welcomed a new cast of characters into my mind and let them entertain me for a few days. Gladly so. This was another very well put together crime drama. Thank you Foreword Magazine and the Bloomsbury Review. And you also, Mr. Double Standard.
Rating: Summary: The things you come across at a garage sale. Review: I found the book `Sheep' at a garage sale. It was the best $4 I ever spent. The story is incredibly clever and exciting. I was drawn to it because of the cover. The cover is fantastically strange. After reading it I went to find other stuff by Novitsky and came across `Trifecta' and `The Cemetery Fence' It turns out that `TCF' and `Sheep' are both in `Trifecta' with a third called `Misty Dins' That is another wild one. They seem like movies in the making. I want to know how I can join The F.A.R.M. mentioned in Sheep.
Rating: Summary: PREMIUM READING MATERIAL. Review: I HAD TO GO AND SEE WHAT ALL THE HYPE WAS ABOUT SO I PURCHASED THIS BOOK. ALL OF THE PRAISE WERE ON THE MONEY. I COULDN'T HAVE PICKED A BETTER BOOK. IF YOU LIKE STORIES REVOLVING AROUND THE UNKNOWN OR JUST LIKE A GOOD SUSPENSE NOVEL THIS BOOK HAS THREE THAT WILL CAUSE YOU TO GET GOOSEBUMPS AND RECOMMEND TO YOUR FRIENDS. I WARN YOU THOUGH, ALL OF THE STORIES HAVE SOME STRANGE EERINESS TO THEM. DON'T READ ALONE AT NIGHT.
Rating: Summary: Twists Turns and Wild Adventures Review: I strongly agree with many of the reviews given to this book and those given to the solo versions of the stories in this book such as the cemetery fence and sheep.
Two of the stories give somewhat of an inspiration towards an afterlife. A sense of being when you die. As if we don't just lie in a hole for eternity.
Sometimes people need to feel like there is something afterwards. Not to believe that we have no purpose when we are gone.
The cemetery fence shows an aspect of the afterlife in which some passed loved ones try to help those who are still living find answers to incredible questions which lead to extraordinary situations. I grew attached to the characters while reading it. There was also a group in which you grow to hate.
The misty dins shows an entirely different aspect of where we go afterwards or at least where the harston's and their friends go. This one was quite a chilling adventure. From the beginning again I felt a closeness with the family and many questions stirred up in my mind to be answered later. The story was also fairly scary.
Sheep did not relate to an afterlife. Without giving away too much information I would have to say it is somewhat of a crime based science experiment gone awry. Once again I welcomed the characters into my mind to tell this story. Some of them or at least one of them is not welcome anymore. And like the cemetery fence there is also a group that you will grow to hate. Wow what a twist! That's all I will say about that.
All three individually would make for incredible movies. Some of the terminology that I have heard others refer to from these stories can also become part of everyday vocabulary. Beam phone and mex the sixes have become two of my personal favorites. Way to go Charlie (one of my favorite characters).
Rating: Summary: Trifigula' Review: Normally I don't trust the reviews given on websites. I took it a step further to visit the publishers website (authorhouse.com) to get some more insight on the book. After looking at the details of it and seeing "the cemetery fence" and "sheep" on the same sight separately, (I don't understand why "the misty dins" was not on there separately. Oh well.) I decided to order "trifecta of suspense" and guess what...... It was well worth it. All three of the stories in the book are fantastic. I HIGHLY recommend the book to ALL!
Rating: Summary: With the Times. Review: Of the three stories, (All were excellent) but one stands with the times above the others. Now with much of the news focused on cloning of animals and science and what we have the capabilities to do nowadays. The second book in this compilation thrives to show the great possibilities of what were only once seen as the plight of tomorrow. This could be the first of many movies touching on that scientific subject, it would be far and above any others of its kind. Reading this book when I did, before the news started hitting the airways, could really give a reader `Goosebumps' to see that the future was almost predicted by the author. It is quite like a Nostradamus prediction. I had to check the pub date after reading it, the original book, "sheep" was published in 2003 and now as we approach 2005 we see many of the writers fantasies actually coming about. It makes you wonder if the final outcome of the story will come close to what will happen in real life. It is scary when you think about it. Can these things really happen? They seem to be unfolding right in front of us.
Rating: Summary: Creativity at its best! Review: These stories are all truly suspenseful. The title fits. I just finished reading it over the weekend and I had to share my opinion as soon as I put it down. Most of the reviews I read on this site are accurate so I feel that it is a good place to post mine.
I think Five Stars should only be given when deserved. I know most people give five when a product is just good and not excellent. I don't give five stars or rate something a ten unless it is truly Great. I feel that Trifecta of Suspense has three truly Great books that should be movies all in one. The order in which I liked them is 1. Sheep. 2. The Cemetery Fence. 3. The Misty Dins. They are all fantastic but I did have a favorite.
They mostly deal with some kind of afterlife and that is something that really sparks my interest. Sheep is a little different, dealing with strange scientific experiments.
I don't know if these reviews go to the author's but if they do, I have a suggestion for this author. I'd like to see a collection of short stories.
I loved this book.
Rating: Summary: Movie Material Review: This is movie material and I am sure it will be picked up soon. It was recommended to me by a friend who gets many marketing e-mails and this book was on a list that was sent to a couple of independent film makers. I hope those little companies will be able to do it justice. A major motion picture company should handle the three stories told in here. I have been writing ideas and things that come to my mind for two years or so in hopes to right a book. This inspired me to go for it. In a way that is good and bad. After reading this, I don't know if I'll be able to come up with anything half as good, but on the other hand, it's great stories like these that make people like me chase that dream. Kudos brother.
