Rating: Summary: Waiting for Sequel Review: Greg Ballan nailed it with this book! This fast paced sci-fi thriller catches you in the first chapter and holds you mesmorized thruout! You can not put this book down. I dont recommend reading it before bed, these lifelike creatures will haunt your dreams!!
Demons have resided in the Hopedale Mountains and feast on children playing in the the Parklands. Its up to a local PI, Erik Knight, to call upon his special powers to rescue the missing children.
As a parent, it is easy to identify with the characters and the fear they feel when children, their children, go missing. The way the characters and story is developed you can easily picture the movie being made! I can't wait for the sequel!!
Rating: Summary: Hope in Hopedale Review: HYBRID is an attention grabber from the first page; be prepared for a great one sit read. This novel is well written and has something for everyone; it has martial arts, weapons use, military strategy, corporate greed, traces of the occult and environmentalism, and some romance. Mr. Ballan's protagonist, Erik Knight, is a well developed, likeable private eye who has exceptional talents that are called into use to find out what is killing the people in Hopedale Park.
An illegal mining operation releases alien creatures that have been entombed for thousands of years; these beings can only be stopped by Erik Knight using inherited skills that he has never been able to understand or explain. Mr. Ballan has a well crafted action plot that moves along nicely and carries the reader with it. Fans of Dean Koonz and Stephen King will enjoy this book.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't Put It Down! Review: OK. I'm not a big SCI/FI reader but I know the author so I decided to read it. Lets just say if all SCI/FI is like this I might be a convert, at least to Greg's books (he is working on book two). I picked this book up before a business trip and after 3 hours of sleep on my return decided I was going to start it. I didn't take a nap or put the book down except to change planes until I finished it. I loved the book. A perfect mix of action, plot, reality and science fiction. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Great suspense and great story! I just kept seeing my self as Erik Knight. Great job Greg!!
