Summary: What a great read!
Review: What an exciting first novel! Drew Fine has written a book in which the lead character, Joe Baby, is unusual and engaging, and the plot is unpredictable and compelling. Joe Baby can't figure out if he's meant to be a good guy or a bad guy, and he's certainly both a little knight-in-shining-armor and hoodlum, but he's thoroughly likeable, and I couldn't wait to find out where the truly original story line would take him. Drew Fine could well be the next Stuart Woods in that Los Angeles features so prominently as a "character" in the novel and adds a dimension to the "mystery" to be resolved, but Fine does an even better job than Woods does in drawing on that which makes the city so fascinating. I hope there'll be more Joe Baby books, as I'm dying to know where the adventures of this quirky character will lead him next.
