Rating: Summary: Excellent Read! Review: From the first page to the last...I was glued to the story line, sympathetic for the victims, hating the perpetrator! This story had all the elements of a good book! ...great storyline, developed characters, pacing, realistic dialogue! Although this was a first book, it appears that Mark Crockett is a seasoned writer! I could lose myself in this book as the author brought words, and pages to life. It was as if the reader was right in the scenes with the characters. The dialogue was extremely fitting for the characters, and the anguish, pain, and love from the main character, "Chickenhead," could be experienced. I enjoyed Mark Crockett's approach of showing the reader the murderer early on, it increased the anticipation as the story cleverly unraveled. His writing abilities are representative of precise and methodical skill. It was an excellent read, full of surprises, and full of perfect timing! Great job, Mark, I can't wait for the next one!

Rating: Summary: Great 1st Novel Review: I'm not much for mystery/crime type books but this one kept my interest. Turkeystuffer was fast-paced with enough twists to keep me turning the pages. The character development for Chickenhead et al was detailed without becoming cumbersome. I don't usually stay up late on a work night to read but Turkeystuffer had me captured. I love to read books that paint a picture in my head that I can actually see....thanks for a great book Mr. Crockett.

Rating: Summary: Gripping and Compelling Review: Someone is killing transients in Phoenix, Arizona and the police are grasping at straws. Their murder log shows eight other connecting cases in which the J. Doe's, all of which are prostitutes, are disposed of grotesquely, placed in garbage bags and then dumped. Robert 'Chickenhead' Gibbs, homeless for seven years, has been searching for his girlfriend, Mimi Driver, for the last four days. Living in what is called the Little Beirut section near downtown Phoenix has Robert worried about the possibilities of her disappearance. This area is where every illicit activity imaginable is produced, packaged and served to unscrupulous clientele. Will Robert find Mimi alive or will her disappearance be the lead the police need to crack the case? I will not label this book a murder mystery because readers are informed early who the perpetrator is. Still, having this knowledge does not dampen the story because the sleuth's arrogance, and taunting display of superiority keeps the reader on edge. This is a well-written story and Mr. Crockett does an excellent job showcasing the horrors of living life on the streets. A reader might be pushed to look at homelessness with a new awareness. If you're looking for a change of pace, try this book. Reviewed by aNN Brown
