Rating: Summary: Hopefully, there will be more to follow Review: Judge Armstrong provides insight into the California criminal justice system from a judge's perspective. He shows its strengths and weaknesses by telling a story about believable characters, from the unsympathetic-but-wrongly-convicted felon to the equally-unsympathetic-jurors who would rather leave the protagonist rotting in prison.
While the book was intended for a broad audience unfamiliar with California's legal system, many lawyers would benefit from the author's insights as to how a criminal case SHOULD be tried. The realism is incredible -- as it should be by someone who has been on the frontlines of criminal trials for half a century.
Hopefully, Judge Armstrong has more stories to tell us, or, as I like to affectionally call him, Grandpa.
John R. Armstrong, II
