Rating: Summary: Truly Outstanding Read!! Review: This story MOVES and is very good at depicting not only police departments but also sheriff's depts and interagency politics. I was moved by the characters, especially Corn Cox, a crusty old fart who is beloved, but the deputies and other lawmen are all real life models. I liked the way all of the characters come alive, the way the action moves through the sludge of routine police work investigations - where the clues are often found in the siftings of tons of information - and how Campbell keeps the reader locked in and engaged through it all. The descriptions of New Mexico are as beautiful as the state itself, and brought an ache to my heart. I recommend this book so strongly that I'd buy you a copy if I had the money - it's THAT good! No bull.
Rating: Summary: A fantastic read! Review: Wow! I couldn't put it down. What a great yarn and a fantastic concept: a Western mystery and a time-shifting epic. You've got to read this one. The author obviously plumbs his extensive experience in law enforcement, and knows the New Mexico landscape like the back of his hand. You'll love his true-to-life characters. I'm waiting for the next installment, Jeff.
