Summary: An entertaining and thought provoking ride
Review: I read Brian Grose's first two books, "Drama" and "Groupies". "The Last Trumpet" is definitely the best of all three books. This is not your typical detective story. The story line of a religious cult leader that is suspected in the crash of a jumbo jet is timely considering the events happening in the world today. It painted a scenario of how science and religion could be used to the detriment or benefit of society. I thought the main characters, Tafford the detective and Colleen the reporter, were clearly defined through their descriptions and dialogue that I could almost see them. I also thought the book had an interesting, twist ending although it seemed a bit rushed at the end. Once I got past some of the editorial errors, it was an easy read. The interesting characters and suprising events made the story very entertaining and left me wanting more. Is there a sequel in the making? If so, I'd check it out. I would recommend this book.
