Summary: A Generous Delight -- Science Fiction of the Real
Review: First and foremost, a very well written book. The author has truly mastered his craft, giving his readers a clear sense of being guided through the story while never failing to surprise us. A delight to read, a literal page-turner. In short, wonderful.
But I cannot leave it at that, for the book also challenges its readers, opening: "You are a witness." It is participatory, an active read. We have been witnesses to our own celebrity culture and even to our own "love stories" just as we are said to have witnessed the appearance that is the game. Can we, however, come to witness what is of true value? Mr. Vedeler's book affords us the opportunity to witness his characters' return to reality. Will we follow their lead?

Review: This is a real page-turner: be warned, once you start, you won't be able to put it down! The psychological depth of the characters is gripping, while the description of the Game reaches moments of pure poetic beauty. I liked that the author avoids too facile a resolution and above all that he analyzes with such clarity the media society in which we not only live, but participate. You will become engaged in far more than just a good read, for "You are a witness."

Review: This novel has an exceptional amount of effort and detail, and the author captures the characteristics and personalities of his characters perfectly. There is originality, creativity, and imagination put into this book, and that can be a very hard thing to find. This being his first published story, it is amazing how he writes as well and sometimes even better than authors who have been in the big writing business for many years. He shows his characters' thoughts and actions with great emotion, and the book is well-written packed with humor, drama, and all.
