Summary: Alaskan Red ....
Review: As often as not, I am drawn to a book by its cover. The cover of ALASKAN RED, at once beautiful and grotesque and cavernous, held the promise of a great story in a land also beautiful and mysterious. I was not disappointed.
The main character, Mark Osborn, is a PI hired to investigate the disappearance of a locally well known, if not notorious young man of diverse reputation. The story unfolds in the first person as told by Mark Osborn, against the backdrop of Denali National Park. His cynical self effacing wit is a feature throughout the book, interlacing characters and events, and evoking in this reader a desire to read on. The book's author, Micheal Featherstone, in my view, deftly brings his magnificent imagery of Alaska to the page. I enjoyed his style, his description, and his humor, all of which make ALASKAN RED a terrific read!
