Review: Think of the decaying south. Update it to the present day. Look at it all with a sense of humor, and you have a delightful, suspense gothic novel which manages to make fun of itself as it drives us on to the wild conclusion. In the end, the only one I felt sorry for was the snake, but I couldn't put it down.
