Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Not Since Faulkner
Review: or Hemingway, or perhaps Dickens at the top of his form, has there been a prose writer to compare with William James. But even his electric and taut wordsmithing cannot compete for honors with his intricate, errorless and compelling plot making.

Although I have yet actually to pick this book up, I am certain that once so raised, I will not be able to put it down. (Perhaps I will be able to put it down when I've finished reading it. But the scintillating quality of Mr. James' work makes even that unlikely.)

I have not doubt that, after actually reading this book, I will conclude that it is both an instant classic and required reading for all aspiring authors.

We can only hope that the author will sell one, two or perhaps three of his 4 boats so he can focus his full time and attention to his craft--that craft being of course his remaining boat.
