Rating: Summary: Assignment Bosnia: Take this assignment and RUN! Review: I have to admit, I'm not very knowledgeable about the political situation in Bosnia. Fortunately, that didn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying this suspense-filled novel. From start to finish the story line grabbed me and never let go. Well-written, descriptive and action-packed, Assignment Bosnia takes twists and turns that kept me wondering what's going to happen next. The main character Matt O'Brien is very likeable, and the supporting cast realistic. It's amazing that this is only the second novel for this author who has obviously been honing his writing skills for many years. As I was reading Assignment Bosnia, I couldn't stop thinking that this novel should be adapted to the screen - it would make an excellent movie. Is Harrison Ford available?
Rating: Summary: Great Reading for Thriller Buffs Review: Perhaps most of us would just as soon ignore the far away and incomprehensible difficulties in the Balkins, but this thriller, woven as it with truth, kept me glued. It starts off a little slowly, but patience soon pays off as Friedman unleashes many truly interesting and startling scenes. His habit of ending a chapter on just the right note makes it difficult to find a good stopping place - you just have to read on into the next chapter! I call it a very good read.

Rating: Summary: A gripping story Review: This exceptionally well-written thriller draws the reader into real events of 1997 when an international committee undertook the dangerous task of finding out what happened to the thousands of missing persons from the Bosnian war. Friedman's use of authentic detail puts us into the shoes of the American senator on that committee, who risks his life in an unrelenting search for the truth behind the rumors of mass killings. Matt O'Brien has to battle policies of the U.S. government and the doubts of his own family as well as the unknown enemies who try to eliminate him. "Assignment: Bosnia" is a page-turner that keeps the reader breathing hard, not only for the fictional hero, but also for the fate of the Balkans and international peace.
