Review: The Watchbird was recommended by a screen writer friend with the comment, "This stuff is happening." The author has done a great job of packaging a serious theme in a delightful and arresting story. This is one you will want to re-read the minute you finish the perfect ending. What a creative twist, to position a young man mentored into the pre-pill sexuality of the forties who actually comes of age during the early days of the sexual revolution. The Watchbird makes it clear that we are entering a period of female domination and he hints at what may come to pass. A great read, probably too sex-based even for today's
films but it is tastefully written and totally enjoyable. I am eager to read his other stuff.
