Summary: Perfect for the Twisted Mystery Lover
Review: This is a murder mystery with about three other stories intertwined. The main character is a former circus performer, now lawyer accused of murdering his lion tamer wife's lover. The story is in the first person and uses footnotes as a comic device. On just about every page, there is some funny comment or tangent concerning the main text reflected in a footnote. I started looking forward to the footnote commentary. The story is internally consistent but strange and the courtroom scene was apparently written by someone with real experience. If you enjoy books like the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, you'll probably like this. A good vacation book. I find myself re-reading the footnotes and certain sections for the passages I missed the first time.
