Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Water's Way is a MUST read if you live on a lake.
Review: And a really good read, even if you don't. This is the first book in a four book series (although this book certainly could be considered stand-alone as well).

This book starts off with a haunting description of natural lake processess, which gives the lake (and it's underwater residents) a startling life of their own. It then moves in to the description of life on and around a lake, with the various components (residents, businesses, tourists, and the caretakers themselves - the Water Patrol), and their intricate interaction.

This book was so full of description and life, such that I swear I was sitting on Mile Marker 18, or was at the local pub, have met the local resort owners personally, or for that matter would be instant friends with the lead, Clay...

It will grab your attention from the start, and not let go until you are done with the vibrant lake life consisting of humor, mystery, tension, and just a plain old cross section of life.

I would caution that if you are looking for non-stop action (such as flying bullets, murder, and mayhem) that perhaps a pulp action novel would better suit you, although this book does have it's fair share of flying bullets, murder, and mayhem within it. And should you live on a lake... be prepared to be eerily haunted by what-ifs, and could-it-happens for weeks to come, as the potential or nearness to reality of this book is frightening indeed.

Overall, highly recommend it, thank you Mr. Drain. (Tho I don't thank you for those several 2 a.m. nights when I couldn't put it down.)
