Review: Venetia, the character, is beautiful, strong, smart, capable, honest enough to appreciate her mother's weakness-and adroit enough to use it to her advantage-she isn't 19 years old, but she is properly innocent-to quote the Bible-cautious as serpents but innocent as doves-this type of woman is what we all would like to be. The stupid quivery bride in April Lady, never commands our respect or our emulation as "our sweet Venetia".
