Rating: Summary: Don't waste your time or money... Review: After reading some of the reviews, I have to ask myself if some of these people read the same book I did (or if they were "friends" of the author). I mean, hello! This book was in no shape to go to print. I wanted to take out my red pen and mark the entire book up like a grade school teacher. The writing is abysmal! Too many words piled on top of one another. I made it through a few chapters and then gave up. And don't even try to tell me that if I had stuck with it I would have been rewarded with a great story. Please. I'm just thankful that I didn't pay anything for this book! I hope that you won't either.
Rating: Summary: Confusing Review: For the layperson unfamiliar with banking, I thought this book was too technically written. The storyline kept me going though.
Rating: Summary: An Intricately written plot. Review: In an astonishing expose' of the internal nuiances of Wall Street, Peter Senese's novel War On Wall Street brings to the attention of his audience an accurate description of how scandelous opportunities exist in today's financial marketplace. As a practicing securities lawyer, I was very impressed with how the author handled a significant amount of information and delievered it in a way that made sense for both the familiar as well as the novice investor. The story of War On Wall Street is about a banker who is attempting to change the way the healthcare industry operates - which in itself, is no easy feat to tackle. With a sense of clarity and descriptions juxtaposed with looming violence, Senese provides the reader with a strong portrayal of where America's medical and political industry went wrong, and provides a very interesting solution to the ongoing dilemma. The protagonist in the story, Tyler Cain, a fairly young successful executive who made a bet he cannot back away from - which is similiar to many individuals who partake in the Merchant Banking game. And it is this bet that leads to the potential downfall of Cain, his partner Judge Weissman, and those who work at the predatorial Orion Capital Management. At the end of his 'deal' awaits 'The Father', who, so it appears, is a real-life former Soviet Union General who is intent of destroying America; however, with funds needed to continue his own international terrorist network nearly depleted, Orion Capital's Unicare HealthCare - Cain's 'deal', becomes the first target in this intricate web of deceit that leads to a true 'hostile takeover' of Cain's clandestine healthcare company. Leading to further problems is the threat that this former general is in possession of a biological chemical able to destroy thousands of lives - a threat the madman has every intent to attempt. On a personal level, I enjoyed this book.
Rating: Summary: A Political Thriller! Review: Intoxicated with self-loathing and amused over his most recent evil accomplishments, Senese's deadly villan, 'The Father' brings the reader immediatly into the frightening world of terrorism, and into the bizarre mind of a madman who intends to change the course of the world. I found 'War On Wall Street' to be a page-turning novel depicting many political and financial issues now in the press. Technically written to a degre, the book does require one's concentration at times, but it is well worth the read. The author's style is similiar to Frye, who many consider to be the master of financial espionage thrillers. The difference with Senese in 'War On Wall Street' is his ability to identify political agendas and bring them to Wall Street - which as we now know, is how many financial terrorist networks have gained financial monies to support their deadly agendas.
Rating: Summary: Don't waste your time or money... Review: Senese penned a very credible political-adventure-thriller in War On Wall Street. The storyline is layered and keeps you wanting to read on and the character development is uniquely strong. War on Wall Street is a compelling book about our society's reliance upon, and eventual downfall, capitalism and greed.
Rating: Summary: I enjoyed War On Wall Street Review: This is a very realistic book of Wall Street, and the inner circles or 'deal making' which occurs that most individuals are not aware of - that is until now, with all the scandels breaking the news every day. In his novel WAR ON WALL STREET, Peter Senese carefully explains to the reader intricate financial matters that HAVE now affected every American today. Clearly, the author's strenght is in his understanding of capital markets. The storyline itself is strong, and layered with intigue. As I read the book, I kept wondering who was behind the mysterious... Senese's storytelling kept me reading . . . not to mention the timelyness of the novel. The only drawback that I could say is that I wished the story took place in other places besides the Eastern Sea Board, but I was left ready to ready RAW ENERGY.
Rating: Summary: Terrorism's Reality Review: Unlike many authors who have written popular cloak-and-dagger fiction, Senese's 'War On Wall Street' brings the reader into the realities of espionage and murder that are occuring in society today. In a very eerie way, the story mirrors many issues evolving around the terrorist attacks on our nation which occurred on September 11th. Initially slated for release on September 28th, 2001, I have had shivers knowing the time-line in the book is from September 5th, 2001 to September 17th, 2001. Having some familiarity with the publishing business, I know 'War On Wall Street' had to be printed prior to September 11th in order to hit its publishing date. Besides the dates, there is just too much detail written about events or issues which have been reported by the media after the book's release. Anyone who enjoy's the Grand writers of espionage will discover an intelligent, talented storyteller in Peter Senese. 'War On Wall Street' is a must read.
