Summary: Great Read
Review: I am not usually a fan of this genre, but I'm glad I made an exception in the case of UX-6000. I was impressed with the technical details which demonstrated the special expertise of the author. This seemed to be a product of experience as well as research. How timely is this story about terrorist threats! It was also satisfying on the level of plot, action, and character. Try it, you'll like it!

Summary: UX-6000: Battle of the Death Sub's Secret
Review: I love mysteries and spy stories and especially ones that are "true to life" -- this one certainly is because it is based on an actual Nazi plot to destroy New York towards the end of WWII. It is fast-paced and the author obviously knows his facts about submarines and cover-ups. I found I could not put it down. Riveting.

Summary: All the Excitement of a Tom Clancey Novel in Under 300 Pages
Review: This is a real page turner. Once you open it up, you can not put it down. UX-6000 is one of the most exciting action/adventure novels I have ever read. At the same time it is an historical novel and a techno-adventure. It is filled with suspense, action, and well-developed characters. You want to know how, or if, Commander Scott will solve the mystery. Will he live to solve it? Will he and Brenda live happily ever after? What about the beautiful and capable Sherry Edwards? Major characters are killed in this intense story. Will she be one of the survivors or one of the dead?

The mystery builds and the action comes thick and fast. Who are the shadowy villains responsible for the secret of UX-6000? Are they Germans or Americans or even KGB? And, what is a World War II German U-boat doing in New York Harbor anyway! There are powerful forces reaching the highest levels of the U S government trying to stop Commander Scott, Captain Peters, and Chief Morris from solving the mystery of UX-6000. Can Scott find out what hapopened after fifty years? Or was it fifty years? Can they overcome the heavily armed Russian mercenaries who destroy home after home in Queens and threaten to burn the entire city?

Peter W. Schneider demonstrates intimate knowledge of New York City, the harbor, and the Coast Guard. However, his greatest writing strength is the ability to combine intense action with technological detail which make the story realistic, believable, and thrilling.
