It was quiet a surprise to discover that one character in this book is named Marcella Jacobs! Review: This third book in the Jackie Walsh series is a nice, easy read despite the fact that the author seems to be a bit confused about the time the story takes place. Ex-cop Matt Dugan was killed "last November", which supposedly happened nine month ago. If I'm not mistaken (and I'm not, because this fact is mentioned numerous times throughout the book), this puts us somewhere around August. Yet on page 42 our heroine Jackie Walsh glances out of a window and observes that the dogwoods and azaleas are blooming in the spring air.
Even if the term "spring air" is just an expression of artistic freedom, last time I checked, dogwoods and azaleas don't bloom in August.
Despite this little slip-up and the fact that Melissa Cleary is not exactly in the same league with Susan Conant and Leslie O'Kane, I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading the other books in the series.
