Rating: Summary: America vs Terrorists! The book is a must read for Americans Review: Hostile Intentions is a fiction work obviously based on fact. The tragedies in New York City and the Pentagon underline what this book is all about. The story line was chillingly and remarkably on target! It shows that the U.S.A. is diseased with terrorists and shows how. I was impressed with the reality. America now needs to "feel good" about itself! This is the book to read. It will re-light the fires of patriotism in your soul. The chapters that take place in New York City are nothing less than chilling. Order it, take it home and really read it. The author has hit the nail on the head regarding the operations of terrorist in America and around the world. Mr. Marino is relatively unknown. But, that is sure to change and soon. He is a patriot and has restored my faith in the United States military, special operations and intelligence services. DO NOT MISS IT.
Rating: Summary: An exciting espionage tale for any military buff! Review: I ordered this book as a light read for a summer trip. I was pleasantly surprised of how good a read it was. A high level defection of a North Korean insider, a coup, an assassin bought with medium range missiles, and a surprise ending. The content was realistic, the military jargon and events were exceptionally detailed. I recommend it to any reader who likes a good espionage tale or Special Operations thriller. I passed it to my boss (a retired Marine officer), and he was talking about it for days. I liked the fact that it wasn't too long, yet it left me looking forward to a sequel. Five stars for Hostile Intentions.
Rating: Summary: A thriller, a 'How-to" manual on dealing with terrorists! Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author has managed to give the readers a simple breakdown of how the American anti-terroists work. The chapter on the torture of a captured terrorist was especially poignant, and shamefully, a thought that surely was in the back of many American's minds today. A totally feel-good ending with plenty of suspense , twists and surprises throughout. After all we've been through this week, (September 11, 2001) Joseph Marino's novel is a band-aid for the mind. If we are to totally defeat the middle-eastern terrorist, this is the way we should deal with them. Highly recommended to all ex-military and concerned citizens. Fiction that rings loudly with the truth of today.
Rating: Summary: Great new talent, plenty of action & suspense. Rivals Clancy Review: I took my time reading this book. It was entertaining, exciting and made you think about how the American and other Intelligence services operate. A spendid read for any trip or vacation. The detailed descriptions of Ho Chi Minh City and Tokyo Roppongi district were especially clear. I read many military and spy vs spy novels, and this one rated up there with some of the best. I recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Timely! Exciting War on Terror Action Hooah! Review: If you like realism, and you've spent any time in military I think you'll really enjoy this book. I found the light and dark humor very entertaining. The way the plot unfolded was ingenious. I can only imagine this is the way it is done in the real war on terror.
Rating: Summary: An edge of your seat "global" thriller Review: This book reads like no other! I received it as a gift and couldn't put it down. Having a military background, I became immersed in the unforgetable detail of this novel. I began to relate Team Zenith's experiences with my own. This author has an amazing imagination. I can't wait to read his next book! If you have a military background or are facinated by the military, this book's for you! Do someone a favor and give it as a gift. It's the best gift I received this year.
Rating: Summary: I don't recommend this if... Review: you took English in college! The first thing I noticed about this book was the lack of punctuation. The author fails to use quotation marks when characters are speaking, there are many sentances with no periods. I haven't finished the book yet, and I'm having a hard time getting through it because I'm so annoyed by all the errors. If these things don't bother you, read the book. The story line is intriguing, it's just hard to concentrate on it because of all the mistakes. I don't understand how this book was published like this. Didn't anyone proofread it?
