Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A Rainy Day Romance
Review: The emotionally unhinged Laurie Morgan is coerced into confronting her fears about a past she is all too ready to forget. Summoned by an ailing grandmother's wish, a widowed Laurie heads to Colorado accompanied by Hillary Lange, a brooding actor she meets by chance. It is here she meets the vaguely familiar boy from her childhood, Jon Maddocks, a stoic cowboy whose fierce loyalty to her grandmother prevents him from revealing the family skeletons to her. Laurie, herself, must uncover the secrets of the Morgan house that have haunted her memory, and she must clear her own name of the mysterious tragedy that is inextricably linked with it.

Phyllis A. Whitney reaches her romantic potential in this story about self-discovery. This lightweight novel deftly combines romantic and suspenseful elements to create a story in which the reader can relate to these carefully molded characters. However, I only recommend this book to those who might enjoy a frivolous and mildly entertaining read.
