Summary: Excellent Read
Review: As a reader of mostly non-fiction (especially biographies), I was pleasantly surprised on how Dark Redemption kept my attention. I started reading it about 6PM on a Friday and besides a few activities (mowing a yard and going to my nephew's birthday party on Saturday) I was finished by 9AM Sunday morning. It had the intensity of an early Grisham novel and the polish of a Clancy product. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants an intense, fast-paced and well-written novel.

Summary: Excellent Thriller by a Brilliant Author
Review: As never having read a "political thriller" before, the book definitely kept my attention and at times was impossible to put down. I am impressed with the author's way of making the entire book go through the build-up to the climax and have an ending that made sense. To anyone that likes thrillers, governmental type scandal or just a suspense filled novel, I recommend this book to you.

This book would make an excellent movie.

Summary: Dark Redemption rocks!
Review: Dark Redemption starts off slowely and the author builds the disparate characters into a well organized pastiche of the spy/terrorist genre. The book quickly becomes a "can't put it down" marathon. The final denouement is worthy of the best in its class. Its a good read!

Summary: Move Over, John Grisham! A New Legal Thrill-Writer is Born
Review: Gripping from beginning to end. Fast-paced, made-for-big-screen legal/political adventure that seldom lets you pause for breath.

In the spirit of Tom Clancy, Wickert demonstrates tremendous breadth of knowledge of historical, geographical, governmental, and military facts and circumstances. Better yet, he disguises these learnings in an adventure story so compelling that you forget you are actually digesting valuable information.

Read it now BEFORE it becomes a major motion picture. Then you, along with the others who found this work early, can speculate as to which big Hollywood stars will fight to get the lead roles.

Summary: Spellbinding! Shocking!
Review: I cannot stand predictable plots and run-of-the-mill endings. Dark Redemption has neither. It holds your attention from start to finish, gently weaving character after character into the storyline, while building a crescendo of suspense that culimates in one of the most surprising endings I've yet to come across in mainstream political/historical fiction. I even learned a lot about the Ku Klux Klan and the CIA! A real winner!

Summary: READ THIS BOOK!
Review: I've known Gary Wickert personally for two decades. During the last few years, over Cajun food dinners, on countless ski lift rides and an occasional a drop-off at the airport, I've been privy to bits and pieces of this story. So when Gary called and said it had finally been printed and was in distribution, I eagerly awaited my copy. Knowing Gary's attention for detail, my anticipation was high... I expected a lot and was not let down. The story moves quickly and locks the reader's attention early with key issues that are timely and quite frightening. There is enough graphic realism to make the reader feel the sudden terror of a violent situation, then the innate helplessness and fear of a government and "system" we live in and are supposed to trust. Unlike James Bond, these are average people caught up in a situation they could never have foreseen. A reader could easily put himself into the story and say, "What would I do?" There are enough twists and turns to keep a reader guessing, then being surprised, throughout the story. I found my heartbeat accelerated during the last few chapters, something I rarely experience while reading a book. If you enjoy a suspenseful thriller, this book is for you! And although the story is fiction, the reader can't help but begin to question the inside workings of our government. With it's "alleged" system of checks and balances, we can now see how easily manipulated and/or controlled it can be, and by so few in a position of power. I personally will never again be able to read a headline in a newspaper and not question what is "really" going on...

I recommend that every Citizen read this book... then look out politicians!

Summary: A Government Shocker!
Review: Spellbinding! Absolutely spellbinding. I just couldn't lay it down. I even laid it on the end of my ironing board while I ironed. The research that must have gone into this is mind boggling. The suspense is almost unbearable. I really learned some shocking things about the government. I would love to see this made into a movie. I'll be the first one in lne.
