Rating: Summary: Don't go down in your cellar! Review: A truly sick man is at home in cellars, especially when he has someone to join him there. Creepy. This book was a quick read and had a very satisfying plot. Tim Miller introduces Drew Kane (whom we hope really doesn't want to get married if Tim continues to write about him), who is all too human in his reactions to what he believes are murders, not disappearances, of several young women.

Rating: Summary: Chilling! Review: Author Tim Miller takes your deepest fears and puts them to page in this fast paced page turner. The action starts very quickly and doesn't stop until you turn the very last page. Mr. Miller gets you rooting for the underdog, Drew Kane, as his first job on the force is to help a seasoned detective find a serial killer kidnapping innocent girls. What he does with them will chill you to the bone. Drew thinks he has a handle on the case...that is until his latest interest, Angela, disappears. You won't want to put this book down, but you'll want to make sure your doors are all locked!
Rating: Summary: Compelling! Review: Compelling and unnerving. Tim Miller's debut novel Without a Trace is everything a mystery/thriller should be. Taut and compact. Quick chapters and action-packed. Well developed characters and a plausible, disturbing plot that will have readers hungrily turning page.
Young, attractive women are missing. They all live in the same county. They all attend the same college, and yet, the local police department seems to think the woman are runaways rather than admit that a kidnapper, or worse, a serial killer is on the loose. The case is turned over to Detective Rex Thomas who is with the sheriff's department.
Drew Kane works in a prison, longing for the day he is accepted into the sheriff's department as patrolman. When Kane makes a major mistake at work, his supervisor will not let him off the hook easily, telling Kane to kiss his chance at becoming an officer good-bye.
Working on his own with Thomas, Kane agrees that it is likely that the women have been abducted. When Thomas hires a college intern, Angela, to assist in their investigation, Kane is quickly smitten with the pretty female.
Things begin to unravel at a break-neck pace when the sadistic killer gets his hands on Angela. Following instinct, Thomas and Kane thrust their energy on identifying the killer before it is too late.
The one problem I had with the book was its length. I would have enjoyed more. However, Miller does a great job developing his characters and building suspense. He demonstrates that he knows how to plot scenes and incorporate experience from his law enforcement background. I will look for more work by this talented writer.

Rating: Summary: Fast Paced Review: I had read this book earlier in the year and as a promising new author, thought his first efforts were good and hope to see more of Drew Kane and Angela in the future. This is a book that once you start it, it is hard to put down. It is fast paced and also has those short chapters that I love so much. The only thing that would have made this book better for me, would have been a little more character development. But overall I would still give it 4 stars.
Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: If this is this author's debute novel, I can't wait to see what's next. Suffice to say, I loved it!

Rating: Summary: Fast paced thriller Review: In a small Indiana town, young girls are disappearing, vanishing without a trace. Because there are no bodies, the powers that be don't agree that any crimes have been committed, perhaps they just left home? Seasoned police detective, Rex Thomas is not convinced that the girls, all students at the same university with everything going for them, would suddenly just leave without telling anyone and not even taking any clothes or belongings with them. New cop, Drew Kane is delighted when he is partnered with Det. Thomas and gets to work on the investigation. His delight soon turns to horror when his new girlfriend, Angela, goes missing and her car is left on his driveway in a blaze of flames... Written by a police officer, Without a Trace has a great sense of realism and some scenes concerning the killer are very uncomfortable to read. You keep wondering if that noise against the window pane was really just a branch scratching the pane or was it fingernails scraping the glass? The book certainly gives you shivers. It's a fast paced book, with short chapters which encourage you to read on to find out what happens next. The killer when he is finally revealed comes as a big surprise. A few times I thought I'd figured it out, but was wrong on both counts! There were a few grammar and spelling mistakes in the book that I noticed, but not anything that would detract from the story. Well worth a read if you enjoy thrillers and whodunnits. Reviewed by Annette Gisby, author of Silent Screams and Shadows of the Rose.
Rating: Summary: Painful Review: The plot is overworked and the characters are not credible. The hero is a young wannabe cop who has no training or experience and finds himself the main "thinker" in solving a complex murder case that has left everyone else around him baffled. His partner, the one with the experience, doesn't seem to have a clue. The writing is painfully elementary and has not been checked for errors.
Rating: Summary: CHILLING! Review: Tim Miller's WITHOUT A TRACE is in one word...CHILLING! Mr. Miller has captured the essence of our deepest fears and brought them to life for all the world to read. WITHOUT A TRACE is WITHOUT A DOUBT the first in a long list of thrilling books from Mr. Miller. You won't be able to put it down until you turn the last page and then you won't be able to go down in the cellar for a long time. A VERY long time.
