Rating: Summary: BROKEN HEARTS Review: Bob Levy really put it together with Broken Hearts. I started the book on an overnight business trip. By the time I got back home the book was finished and I was on Amazon looking for another book by Mr. Levy.
Rating: Summary: Good for putting chills down the reader's spine Review: Bob Levy's Broken Hearts is a gripping psychological thriller about a serial killer who targets women and leaves their bodies in old theaters, with makeup applies to make resemble a silver screen star of the fifties. Decades ago, the original killer with this twisted method of operation was electrocuted for his crime, yet now a new spree pattern has emerged - an ordinary copycat? Or something much more sinister? Broken Hearts is a tense, engaging story that is especially good for putting chills down the reader's spine!
Rating: Summary: Never liked mysteries until I read this book! Review: I was asked to read this book by a friend and put it off until I had no choice. I don't like murder mysteries. After reading only a couple of chapters I was hooked and couldn't put it down. I was actually disappointed when I finsihed the book. I'm looking forward to Mr. Levy's next publication as I feel he is an excellent story teller. I've recommended this book to quite a few people since reading it and feel very confident that they will enjoy it as much as I did.
Rating: Summary: can't put it down! Review: This book was a real surprise. I simply could not stop turning pages. Fans of John Grisham will appreciate the well researched details of the book while Patricia Cornwell readers will love the well executed twist ending. I also appreciated the way the gruesome details were handled with an elegant touch that conveyed the horror of the crimes without glorifying them. All in all, a fascinating read that lacked nothing ... except perhaps a map for those of us who now wish to visit these old movie houses that inspired this author's impressive first novel. I can't wait for the next book.
Rating: Summary: Incredibly Entertaining Book!! Review: This is the first book in a very long time that I read cover to cover in just one sitting. I started BROKEN HEARTS during an afternoon road trip and couldn't stop until I had absorbed every word. Bob Levy's quirky characters and clever dialogue kept me spellbound. Great job, Bob! Looking forward to the sequel.
Rating: Summary: Pleasant surprise Review: When you first pick up Bob Levy's new book, you may easily choose to put it back down due to its shiny pulp fiction like cover. However, the bloody bold yellow letters and old movie theater only set the stage for a nail-biting search for a serial killer in Elvis land. I actually work in the bookstore in the old movie theater that Levy mentions in Chapter 31. All of our employees have heard the "urban legends" that someone was once murdered upstairs in "the crying room." Levy gives great fictious flare to the stories we have all heard and keeps us wondering if they are actually true! He even decribes our store perfectly! For those of you who enjoy a great mystery or thriller, you will definitely enjoy the story Bob Levy plots! For those of us working at the bookstore, we hold our breath and check behind closed doors!!
