Rating: Summary: Stein. Jacob M. Stein. Review: The challenge in writing a review for a book like this is deciding how to structure the criticism to its most potent. Fortunately this will not be difficult. Author Jules M. Seletz based his main character on himself, using particular details of his life to "flesh out" his character in the print. However, even though he's basing his character strictly on himself, the character doesn't work. This is no small feat. It is very difficult to structure a character around an actual person and fail in being at all convincing. Personally, I cannot imagine the man pictured inside the cover rolling out of speeding cars, jumping off bridges, and knocking down the bad guys. Above all, it is absolutely shameful that Mr. Seletz has his character have the same INITIALS as himself. His wife's name is also only letters away from the same. As I read the book it hit me over and over that Mr. Seletz pictures himself as a married James Bond in a uniform. I was just waiting for him to ask a suspicious Russian blonde for a martini, shaken, not stirred. So far there are four books in this series, obviously a venture sparked by the hours of boredom of retirement. A previous sequel to his original "Sentinel Event" was entitled "Not Another Sentinel Event." Ironically, Seletz does not know what he is saying; please, sir, not ANOTHER Sentinel event. Please.
