Summary: Butcher of the Noble
Review: This is a fairly fast-paced book, loosely based on actual cases here in Virginia. Some of the characters seem a bit overdrawn and, while not a prude, I felt distracted by somewhat gratuitous explicit sexuality. Guess the author felt it would help sell books. All in all, a good read and I'd buy more of this author's work.

Summary: Disappointment
Review: When I started reading the second installment of Lewis Cody's exploits, I realized that the magic that captivated me most, in addition to his community ties, was his relationship with Lucia Dodd. After finishing this book, I decided to consider it just a small bump in the road. I choose to believe that Lucia came to her senses and came back to Hunter County and Lewis. Sorry Mr. Slusher. I do admire his work but when he created the interestingly original Sheriff Lewis Cody and then attached him to his dynamic partner, Lucia Dodd, in essence, he created a duo that doesn't work as well solo.

Summary: Can't wait for the 3rd one!
Review: William Slusher is terrific. I bought Butcher of the Noble after having read the first book. I didn't realize it was going to be so much better! It's a terrific tale, great characters, a touch of "slap & tickle," and riveting -- even though the subject matter is really horrible! Can't wait for his next book...

Summary: Butcher of the Noble
Review: William Slusher specializes in psychopathical killers, and writes a solid story with characters you care about. His work is not for the faint of heart, since he gets very -- graphic -- at times, especially in Butcher of the Noble. But I can't wait for his next book in this series!
