Summary: Deserves more than JUST 5 STARS.
Review: Christopher Pike pulls you into the world where a girl was poisoned by a friend. You are feeling for her the whole time. The main character was so real and such a great person. Pike does another AMAZING job. Read it, its great.

Summary: I LIKED IT!
Review: I personally thought it was a really good book. The beginning was kind of boring though. So the first time i read it i had borrowed it from my friend and she told me where it started to get good. But i liked it alot so i bought it and read the beginning. My favorite characters are Sol and Shani. I couldn't stand Lena and Kerry and Bert.

Summary: Rereading this after about 13 years...
Review: I think I read this for the first time when I was about 14, and I went back & reread it when I was moving books to my new house last year, and I was amazed by how suspenseful it still is (and how much knowing how the Beatles' song BLACKBIRD goes improves my reading of certain scenes). I don't know why they don't turn this into a movie - maybe it's the Happy Ending component, maybe it's the fact that there's a lot of drinking in the book by high school seniors (note: back in the mid-80's, when this book was written, the drinking age was 18), but this is a really great tale about families and good friends - there are scary parts, too, but the goodness of some of the characters is such a positive.

Summary: Weekend
Review: THE DREAM BECAME A NIGHTMARE.

The weekend in Mexico sounded like a dream vacation. Four guys, five girls--and a gorgeous oceanside manison all to themselves. It should have been perfect.

Except nothing was going the way they'd planned. There was the girl upstairs who was fighting for her life. The phone lines that went dead. And the explosion in the garage that could have killed them all.

But not even that prepared them for what happened next. Because while they were getting some sun, someone else was getting revenge--and the terror wouldn't stop until the weekend was over.

Review: This story is very entertaining and suspenseful. A group of teenagers go to a party in Mexico at their friend's mansion. They think it's a time for beer, tan lines, and an overall good time. But somebody in they're little get-together is a traitor, and soon this enjoyable vacation becomes scary beyond imaginable. On saturday, they worked on their tans...By Sunday, they were working on keeping alive.

Summary: Absolutely fantabulous
Review: This work is Pike at his best. Weekend is one of my favorite books of all time, and I read it about twice a year or more since I first read it almost four years ago. Weekend has all the right stuff...mystery, romance, hot guys, people you can relate to, and comedy. What more could one ask for?

Even though it's one of Pike's earliest works, I think that it is one of his best. I recommend this book to anyone who has ever read Pike or even if you haven't, try this one and see if you don't like it. I think I like this one better than some of his more recent works because it is different from his recent ones. His recent works have more of the supernatural/sci-fi element, and while that is all good and well, I enjoy more grounded works every once in a while, which Weekend is.
