Summary: An excellent book!
Review: As a loadmaster on C-130s, this book is a must read for all flyers! Has a great storyline and true to the life of a flyer.

Summary: Great reading
Review: As a member of the WVANG (Charleston) and a fellow flight engineer with 69 rotations in Panana, I can recommend this book as great reading. The author has been realistic in it's scope and has a great knowledge of all the parameters needed.
This book is a real page turner, I had to make myself quit for household chores.
I can recommend this book to any Air crew member.

Summary: Refreshing and believable!
Review: I get tired of reading about unbelievable super heros. This book studies the motivations and emotions of the regular people who are struggling with the realities of modern warfare and politics. There is someone like you in this book. Great story.

Summary: A tale of modern war, or an old-fashioned thriller?
Review: I never dreamed that I would voluntarily read a so-called war novel . . . and enjoy it! But this one came highly recommended and, since my son-in-law flies a C-130, I figured I'd give it a try. Although I fought the imagery, Cope took on the appearance of my son-in-law in my mind. And, thanks to terrific details that even a layman could understand, I felt as if I were in the pilot's seat as I read along . . . well, the flight engineer's seat, at least. Surprisingly, I found that this "war novel," with its intriguing structure, careening between Cope's story and Aftermath, read like the best of suspense novels. Now the suspense is in figuring out how the author will construct the sequel!
