Summary: Patience Required
Review: Bethany Campbell's writing style is a lot like that of her character, Brooke Tharpe. You have to keep plowing through endless, boring details before you get to the actual story. I almost gave up reading this book before I got to the good part.
The characters in this book are so stupid, I couldn't feel sorry for them. Carrie Blue is supposed to be a former policewoman. Shouldn't she know better than to give information to a stranger on the phone asking where she lives? They ALL should know better than to give personal information to people they meet on the internet! "Stupidity 101" would be a more appropriate title for this book.

Summary: Fantastic; page turner from beginning to end
Review: Excellent psychological thriller about a serial killer who stalks women on the Internet. Bethany Campbell does an excellent job of story telling and character portrayal of some of the "lonely hearts" who use the Internet chat rooms to seek less-than fulfilling sexual and personal relationships.

Summary: Good Way To Pass Time
Review: I liked the main character, and the book in general. I did not find it to be super scary, but you could definately see how it would apply to real life.

I had a hard time understanding all of the people into "cyber" sex. I was surprised by the amount of it. I guess I am not that computer literate, I don't even know how to find these sites. It was a pretty different reality. I also had the impression that this book was written several years ago.

Had 2 different story lines going on, and what you thought was happening wasn't. It was not quite that predictable.

Good way to pass the time. I would recommend buying it used unless you are in love w/the author. If you like this book, you would also like books by Kay Hooper, Helen Myers and Erica Spindler. Also Lisa Jackson and Iris Johanson.

Good luck!

Summary: Kept me up at night and away from chat rooms
Review: I've never been big on chat rooms, but this book intrigued me because I have friends who have. I read this book while bedbound three years ago and I am still recomending it to friends. If anyone knows anyone who likes to meet guys in chat rooms and intends to meet them in real life this is so the book to read. I'm not saying all guys on the net are bad at ALL, but it does make you think again about meeting someone you've only known through words typed on a computer screen. I love suspensful books that keep you up at night and anyone else who does will love this one. I hope Bethany keeps on writing, she's one of the good ones!

Summary: Loved It, Fear It... Couldn't put it down... !
Review: It is evident that Ms. Campbell has spent many hours on the Internet, so I hope she reads my review so she will know how much I loved this book! I started reading it and could not put it down until the very last word had been read! I especially liked the evolution of the reluctant realtionship between Hayden and Carrie IRL, while the whole Cyber thing was going on... and (so as not to ruin this part for anyone else) the sudden twist involving Brooke! Most Internet related books that I have had the opportunity to read thus far paint a fairly unrealistic picture of what the Internet is, how it works, and it's capabilities. This book is so true to life that it is scary! (Speaking as someone who has spent a great deal of time chatting on-line)The characters are easy to relat to, and each of them remind me of someone that I know on the Internet (except for the killer thankfully!) This book should be read by anyone who spends a great deal of time on-line, or anyone who is curious about being a part of a virtual community such as Omega MOOn. I will also suggest this book to a few of my Cyber-pals whom I think take too many chances with some of the folks they meet on-line... maybe they'll take a little caution from reading this as things similar things happen IRL. :)

Summary: Classic!
Review: My vote is with the other reviewers who say this lady knows the Internet. This is one scary book, and shows you how easy it is to get in trouble online without even trying! It has a lot of action, and the characters were all really interesting. I couldn't put this book down.

Summary: Thought Provoking
Review: This book eerily describes a situation similar to the one that just happened in Kansas--a serial killer who stalks his victims on the Internet.

This book is suspense, rather than mystery. That is, you always know who the villain is, you just don't know what he's going to do next...but you always know it's going to be frightening!

Read this, and you'll start being very, very careful about chat rooms and such. It's scary, and the description of the Internet is too convincing for comfort.

Summary: Please take care of your kids on the internet
Review: This book is incredible and amazing, you won't stop reading until the end, and it has a very strong message at the end of the book, the message is: no matter what happen inside the internet, some people will solve their problems, some people don't, but always will be a new naive that will think that to him nothing will happen on the net

...

The book is explicit on the internet chat problems, I recommend this book for every teenager, it should be a must in every high school of the world.

Summary: a disappointed reader from NY
Review: This was the first book I've read from this author and I was disappointed. I doubt I'll try any other books because I choose this one due to the sterling recommendations given. It didn't strike a cord with me due to: (1) three seperate love story lines which I felt diluted each one and I couldn't feel connected to any as a result; (2) the constant stressing of the protagonist's age (mid 40s) and her life experiences which weren't dealt with in-depth or made revelant to the story; (3) although I did like the protagonist herself when reading through her eyes, I would much rather not have to have read throw away descriptions about her life and the love dilemna felt like it was thrown in there and hoped it stuck - it certainly needed more development - way too many issues were brought up and none of them were fleshed out to the extent needed for this reader's involvement; and most importantly (4) the love stories seemed to take center stage rather than the thriller plot which I found much more interesting. I feel that there are many other authors that blend the thriller/love interest story line more succesfully (e.g. Erica Spindler & Anne Fraiser). It was a mediocre read - neither horrible nor great.
