Rating: Summary: I Hate Wasting Money Review: ... The book did not grasp on abuse like I thought it was and then it goes on to help you realize that the husband was nothing but a crackhead. In the beginning the author Marlene Taylor lead you to believe that he was going crazy, but his craziness was induced by drugs. ... Drugs do make you do crazy things, but if you were sober and drug-free you most likely would not do these things. ...
Rating: Summary: BE AWARE OF ALL THINGS Review: At first, this book was making me angry because I could not imagine a lady attorney being this naive. After a few days my anger subsided, so I picked up the book again and started to read. After the second time, I could not put the book down. I am a very busy person but I found myself carrying the book every where I went in order to snatch a few pages of reading. I enjoyed the book but wanted more development of the characters. Miss Taylor, what about the ghosts? You lefted me hanging! Thomasina

Rating: Summary: Confusing & Unrealistic!! Review: I am an avid reader and read all types of books. I was totally disappointed with this book. It was totally confusing and nothing tied in together. In the beginning the author introduced people and intrigues (at the party) that you never heard about again. I know drugs can change a person's personality but come on!! The episodes with the psychologist didn't make sense, and I have no idea where Tuesday's attorney was coming from. And the day GB was going to kill her with the saw, why would anyone with an ounce of intelligence go into the house by themselves when an abuser had just been notified to move out that same day? Another unrealistic part was when she let GB and his lawyer walk in and take furniture, etc, after he stole and destroyed all of her belongings! But the kicker was "what was up with the supernatural stuff? How did that even get into the story? Was he having drug induced hallucinations?? Was the story about abuse, drug addiction, insanity, ghosts, or what??? Frankly, I don't know and don't give a darn!!
Rating: Summary: Love, Drugs and Life Review: I must say I really enjoyed this book. The book kept your attention the whole way through. I didn't understand the picture on the front of the book until I finished. The only thing I would have like to have seen happen was to have an epilogue at the end to know who it was that pushed (GB)Gregory down those stairs and to know that Tuesday finally got back on her feet with life. This book was a great eye opener in when you sense problems in a relationship don't let love blind you into thinking that it'll get better one day when that one day might not ever come. I found her friends,co-workers and neigbors were very supportive when they needed to be and stayed out of her business even tho' they sensed something wasn't right. I have recommended this book to every one I know a great night-night reader.
Rating: Summary: A Pretty Good Read Review: I thought this book was definitely a page turner. It held my attention the whole four hours it took for me to read it. Initially I thought Gregory had a mental illness(hearing voices, etc.) and thought that Tuesday was way naive - especially her being a lawyer and all. I recommend this book.

Rating: Summary: If You Like Wacthing the "Lifetime" Channel, Review: If you like watching the "Lifetime" channel, you will love reading this book. I'm glad i read the book because it gave me more in sight on why some men are abusive to their wives/girlfriends. I believe there are a lot of naive women in this world just like Tuesday and this book is a wake up call for all. I really enjoyed reading this book and i recommend it to all who enjoy reading and watching Lifetime *smile*. I just have two questions tho. Who pushed GB down the steps? and What or who was in the crawl space when Tuesday's Brother heard the noise? I hope Marlene does a continuation to this book....
Rating: Summary: Lies, Drugs and insanity..huh? Review: Silver Tongue wasn't about abuse as much as it was unrealistic. Tuesday Washington is a lawyer, mother of 2 sets of twins, married to Gregory and finds herself in a nightmare she can't seem to awaken from. Gregory Washington is a successful Air Traffic Controller, father and husband to Tuesday. He is riding on a roller coaster of insanity, but why? I found Silver Tongue to be a fast and interesting read but the book lacks realistic situations. It seems the author wanted the reader to know that Battered Women's Syndrome knows no class of people. Whether your white or blue collar, it can find it's way into your home. I am still a tad bit confused regarding Gregory's background. I had a hard time with Tuesday's character she was too naïve to the ways of the world. As a lawyer I am sure she had to come in contact with all kinds of characters. Once she was presented with situations regarding her husband I thought she should've been more alert. Marlene Taylor has a knack for telling a story and I would certainly read her next book. I love the way she gets right to the point no fluff. Missy APOOO Bookclub.
Rating: Summary: Let the truth be told! Review: The book was fast paced, and covered a lot of topics. Some of the situations seemed really unrealistic, but living in Philadelphia anything can happen. The imagery was clear and concise, and not over baring. I enjoyed this read, it was short and eye-opening. Its good to see a fellow Sista University of Pennsylvania Alumnist, making progressive statements on family issues.
