Rating: Summary: A fabulous psychological suspense Review: Helen Patterson feels that her life is empty as she only has time for work and dealing with her teenage son Lang. Her former spouse Boyd wants her back. However, she has doubts because he never accepted the idea that he no longer is a famous actor. His days as a child star are long gone. Ultimately, his irresponsibility shoved Helen into the arms of another man. When that relationship failed, Helen turned her energy into Alice Nash Designs where she works as an office manager. Ray Richards enters the store and buys a complete bedroom suite for his missing daughter abducted by his ex-wife. Helen's heart immediately reaches out to the shattered father. As they work together, she becomes even more attracted to Ray. However, unbeknownst to Helen is that the ray of sunshine camouflages a vicious predator. This individual will soon wreak havoc on everyone she holds dear to her heart. Imagine if you will the beautiful prose of a Siddons' novel written for a psychological suspense tale that strips the soul to the core. That unique dichotomy provides an apt description to the feel of A COMFORTING LIE. The theme of Linda Phillip Ashour's novel warns the reader to protect their children from the predators disguised as friendly humans because inattention could lead to disaster. Harriet Klausner
