Rating: Summary: acccurate view of the art world Review: Though my interest in mysteries generally runs to Elizabeth George, Amanda Cross and Pd James, I was attracted to the title of this book. Generally the art world is very superficially and inaccurately treated in books, but I found this one quite on the mark. It had a very up to date feeling to it and Steinberg had a nicely ironic tone that set up the rivalries of academic, artworld and workplace situations. The author created some very compelling characters and situations. In fact I found the characters so interesting I was disappointed the book wasn't longer and that she didn't describe more about them, in the manner of Elizabeth George and PD James. The plot moved along very well and kept me guessing and I am only sorry it wasn't a longer book with more details about the characters.
