Summary: I needed a BOREDOM antidote
Review: Captain David Egan, United States Navy, is a man of many talents. He has served with the Navy SEALS and is now the Commanding Officer of the USS Peterson. Suddenly, without any warning or explanation, he is called away from his task group to join with the USS Kennedy's task group. After attending a meeting aboard the Kennedy, he finally finds out the reason for his transfer. Unknown to the world, a new biological weapon has been developed and is now in the wrong hands. David has been chosen to lead the covert team to recover it, before it can be used with disastrous results. Dr. Catherine F. Evans, an expert in the biological field, has been loaned to the CIA from the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta where she works. Her job is clear, containment of the biological substance once it is recovered. But what she is not prepared for is the events that take place and unfold while trying to recover the substance. She isn't trained to deal with living undercover and the threat of being killed at any possible second. She also isn't prepared to deal with Captain Egan. Together David and Catherine must find and contain the biological substance. Not only are they racing against time, but they are also racing against the Russian Intelligence and the ex-KGB agents that are the masterminds behind the biological substance and threat. At every turn, David's leads are cut off. The ex-KGB always seem to be at least one step ahead of him. His men are being killed at every turn and his plans are being put out of commission before they even get going. How are the targets getting this information? Is there a leak in the team? Suddenly, everything starts to fall into place, but with it comes a price tag that David isn't sure he is willing to pay. Code Name: Antidote is a fantastic book that takes you into the world of undercover and danger. Mr. McHenry has used his prior naval knowledge along with excellent research and written a book that a person can lose himself or herself in. He pulls you into the book and the action as he unfolds it one piece at a time. Just when you think things are finally going to go right, something else goes wrong. For those that love Tom Clancy and Robert Ludlum, you'll love this book as it is written with the same style and flair. I definitely look forward to reading more books by this author.

Summary: "Engrossing Navy Thriller"
Review: From naval ships to protocal and chapter to chapter, Mr. McHenry's, "Code Name:Antidote," had me excitedly flipping through the pages of this engrossing Navy Thriller with eager anticipation. I thought the story was very believable, reminded me a little of some earlier works of Clancy.

Summary: I have one question: Who knew? Chilling!
Review: I sit here, rather chilled after reading this work. I previously checked the date it was published, and it isn't even 10 months before 9/11! Talk about hitting close to home! This is the kind of stuff that could come out of today's headlines, and then some. I do believe that God knew what He was doing when He honored this book by Paul McHenry III.

Join Commander David Egan and Katherine Evans as they attempt to recover an ebola virus. My heart will probably pound for a few days after reading this! I don't know if this was his first attempt at writing a novel, but it wasn't bad at all. He mixes this with some KGB bad guys, a nice view of Norway, and yet a sense of reality. Sometimes all you can do is gulp after a read like this. You got a good view of the enemy in this book. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Summary: Code Name: Antidote
Review: It is apparent that Mr. McHenry knows Naval and shipboard procedures. He goes to great lengths to let the reader know that he is up on procedures to the point of tedium. The first half of the book was boring and repetitive. The second half was better but some of the religious discussions came out of the blue and seemed out of place. This would be a book best checked from the library.

Summary: Fictional Improbability
Review: With the US Navy shooting up the Oslo harbor and Seals landing in the public park, we are asked to believe the US diplomat 'has a challenge' in handling the Norwegian government. This doesn't include the numerous bodies that the CIA "cleaners" have to dispose of. C'mon. It's like Rambo in a book.

The story is slightly disjointed, the characters are hard to follow and the pace uneven.

Sorry to say, only the cover and packaging were well done - promising a story that didn't deliver.
