Rating: Summary: "Outbreak" has nothing on you! Review: "CODE: ALPHA" is one of the best books I have ever read, and I have read a lot of books. The reason why I enjoyed your book so much is because it involved people and events from real life, like Saddam Hussein and the different deadly diseases. I couldn't wait to get to the next page. Do you have plans for making this into a movie? "Outbreak" would have nothing on you. I would be one of the first in line to see it.
Rating: Summary: A real page-turner Review: I found the book to be a real page-turner, especially those segments on the "plantation" where the toxins were manufactured. As I read, I couldn't help but think this would make a great action movie. In fact, I could see Bruce Willis in the role of "Marshall" and Claire Danes as "Julie." I'm looking forward to the sequel.
Rating: Summary: A Thriller With Lots of Surprises Review: I started this book on Saturday afternoon -- finished Sunday morning. Scary! Besides having a great read I learned how vulnerable we are to biological terrorism -- my favorite Massucci book! If you haven't read any of his, try this one first. A very good novel indeed!
Rating: Summary: A Fiction that can become reality Review: St. Vitas is a disease that as far as everyone is concerned, there is no cure once in the system. This Virus is deadly within seconds. Someone from the Middle East steals the Virus and intends to use it on Americans in America. Code alpha is called into action to retrieve the virus, however, there are ,many people who will die first. The Student who created it runs through her guilt and shame for creating a monstor that someone could get hold of and dispences with ease. This story, although fiction, could become reality in our day. Do we have a defense system to protect us? No we don't. This book is very appropriate for our times. Only God can prevent us from self destruction. The book is all action non-stop from beginning to end, a thriller at it's best. I want to thank Joseph Massucci for delivering a really true thriller to us to make us think about what we are doing to ourselves. A must read book.
Rating: Summary: Extraordinary Entertainment! Review: The book starts off well enough and is quite interesting until about half way. Then it becomes absurd with unrealistic military battles and characters who survive impossible situations. I do not recommend it unless you are so bored you have nothing better to do.
Rating: Summary: Prophetic Review: This thriller was average in every way. If you are interested in biological warfare, definitely get this book. Otherwise, whatever. Gorgon is too much of the average, run-of-the-mill evil terrorist villian. This book has plenty of pointless sex in it, but not much in the way of characters. It's a good read, but not great. If you are incredibly bored and need reading material, go ahead and get the book. Otherwise, why bother?
Rating: Summary: A Great Read! Lots of Fun!! Review: What a great book!!! All fun, and I really loved the ultra-resourceful female biochemist, Julie Martinelli. I imagined her looking like the female Marine Corps Jag Officer on the TV show "JAG". CODE:ALPHA reads much better than Clancy's novels without all the convoluted political machinations. It's very believable that the world one day may face a terrible biological weapon like the St. Vitus. Most of all, the novel is such well written, exciting reading that I could not put it down!! That's how a good novel should be!
Rating: Summary: Prophetic Review: Who would have thought that a thriller by a first-time author published early in '97 -- and reportedly five years in writing -- would read as though it were taken from today's headlines!? Yet, this edge-of-your-seat page-turner about Saddam Hussein's biological terrorist attack against the US on the eve of a Coalistion-led war with Iraq is right on the money. Scary! A pity this book is out of print, but it's readily available in the used market. Highly recommended!
