Summary: A Pastor's Worst Nightmare
Review: Advent is the Christian Church's time of reflection and preparation for Christmas--at least that's what it's supposed to be. But with Christmas decorations now going on sale before Halloween, Churches get caught in the "Christmas Season" (which seems, for most folks, to end on Christmas Day.
Imagine being a pastor and finding one of your parishioners dead on the floor of your sacristy--just before Sunday worship on the first Sunday in Advent. That's what happened to Pastor Abby, a young, single woman (probably Lutheran, I'm guessing) pastor in her first church on her own. To make it worse, the decedent is a woman who has not been very popular with other congregants--or, it turns out, with people with whom she has worked.
There is no lack of suspects--and Abby feels the need to try to find out who might have murdered this woman, for the sake of his family. So to the dismay of her vestry chairperson, she acts as an amateur sleuth.
There is, of course, the *de rigueur* single policeman who becomes her love interest and helper in solving the crime.
This is an enjoyable cozy, worth the time to read. Sadly, the publisher is one which generally markets through libraries only--it takes Amazon a long time to obtain it from the publisher and send it to purchasers. That's the only negative thing I can say about this book.
