Review: Stephens deftly reveals the machinations of the human psyche, both good and bad. Through a candid portrayal of a man beset by psychological demons, the reader is invited into the mind of the well-meaning but often hapless and feckless protagonist. The characters that swirl around him are also depicted beautifully and showcase the breadth and depth of Stephens' writing. The ethereal world interwoven with the one we find familiar is another example of Stephens' proficiency with alluring prose.

With short, easily digestable chapters, it is a tremendously rewarding read. It may just bring me back to fiction!
