Review: The authentic feel (and smell!) of submarine warfare, an ingenious terrorist plot, believable characters and a strong dose of realpolitik smoothly woven into a great story. Comparable to Clancy without being imitative. Definately a great read!

Summary: Gripping, Fast Paced, AND Well Written!
Review: This is a gritty, gripping, fast paced book - I found it impossible to put down! The setting is post cold war and effectively captures the scenario of rebel terrorists gaining control of a nuclear submarine. The book is rich in detail, demonstrating real knowledge of submarine operations as well as accurately depicting the politics and physical environment. The writing is superb; description never slows down the pace and the characters are multi-dimensional. I particularly appreciated that even the "bad guys" were fully developed human characters - nothing cardboard or plastic here!
