Summary: An unusual PI, a delightful story
Review: Emma Rhodes is a problem solver, who specializes in assisting the nobles, the rich and the powerful. The minimum fee is $20,000 for her services, but is only paid if she successfully resolves the issue for her client within two weeks. After just completing a case, Emma decides to take a vacation. On the train, she meets Juliet Bishop, who happens to be her soulmate. Juliet, a daughter of a British duke, admits that she plan to divorce her husband, who she still loves.

Emma feels that this situation sounds like something she can easily fix (for a fee). Juliet explains that her spouse Sidney is obsessively jealous of every man she talks to and hence makes life intolerable. Emma agrees to work on the problem. She goes to meet Sidney's former wives to confirm that he drove them off with his insane jealousy. However, not long after she meets with them, one of the ex wives is killed and the other almost murdered. Now Emma has more than just a spousal problem to resolve, she has to uncover who has the motive to kill Sidney's ex-wives.

Emma Rhodes is a nineties Emma Peel (Avengers TV show) with the same charm and champagne taste that somehow readers will still find enchanting. Though the fasts-paced story line makes the novel seem a bit far fetched, one becomes engrossed due to the overwhelming personality of the lead protagonist which, in turn, facilitates involvement in Emma's fantasy lifestyle. This is a one of a kind series with universal appeal. All mystery enthusiasts will clamor for more Emma Rhodes stories.

Summary: Some humour, much pretentiousness
Review: Emma Rhodes keeps getting better and better! Each book adds more and more to the character. The ending was unexpected but very satisfying! I hope Cynthia Smith has many more problems for this P.R. (Private Resolver) in the future!

Review: If you have ever wanted to read about a female James Bond, with sexual prowess and flaire, here she is! Only she borders on a nausiating sweetness (perfect body, perfect I.Q., perfect lovers, perfect cook, perfect pitch, perfect address, etc.) But perhaps you will not mind her diatribes on her "perfect" morality. Still, worth a trip to the library for the humour.
