Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Quirky, Witty, and True to life Outrageous
Review: I had been meaning to read this book since I first read about it on the net. Having recently moved to a similar small town in Maine, I thought the premise of a "mystery" in a town where everyone knows eachothers business sounded compelling. Little did I know I wouldn't be able to put it down, I'd laugh aloud, and share it with my family and friends. The authors insight into the dynamics of a small town, in this case ficticious Bosky Dells is hilarious, bizarre, and absolutely true. From the goings on at the dump, community hall, and especially the general store lunch counter it's the quintessential small town epic, without being cutesy. If you enjoy stories about country life (ie movies Baby Boom, Funny Farm) but are looking for a more authentic account with a little suspense, this is the book for you. You'll love the characters and miss them when your done. A real find for those who love stories set in Maine, but don't want them to include the horror usually found in books by some other famous Maine authors. And you'll wonder every time you walk into a 'Mom and Pop' country store in the Pine Tree State, "is this Bosky Dells?". I did just that, and happened to meet the author by such bizarre circumstances, in that very country store.
