Rating: Summary: An Engrossing Story Told by an Intelligence Insider Review: "Meridian," the first novel written by retired counter-intelligence officer Andrew Ceroni, sparkles! Mr. Ceroni posits the reason behind such scientific advances as SDI and stealth technology to be a secret on the magnitude of the Manhattan Project. When former CIA agents begin dying, a high officer in the "Company" finds that his own life is in danger. His search for the "Who, what, and where" soon pales beside the "Why?" Mr. Ceroni writes with assurance and skill. He tells a good story; I found the book literally impossible to put down. His talent is in making his characters three-dimensional as they--and by extension, we-- live the experience. One may not like some of the characters, but they are real. The climax is organic to the story; I actually felt the characters' emotions. If you enjoy being present at the discovery of a major talent, buy a copy of "Meridian." Then, when your friends start discussing the plot twists of some future triumph, you can smile and say, "I knew when I read his first novel that he would be a major star."
