Summary: One of the worst books read in many years.
Review: What a disappointment this book was. I first read a review in the University of Nebraska alumni magazine and couldn't wait to get a copy to read. I, too, am a graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center's College of Medicine (as is the author), and I studied gross anatomy under (the real) Dr. Holyoke my first year in medical school. What the author did to Dr. Holyoke was simply disgusting and disrespectful. I remember him as a outstanding teacher, who was admired by the hundreds of medical students who met him. The plot of the book was poorly developed, easily predictable; the characters were superficially developed; the climax and resolution a big let down. The book also needed a proofreader--I found at least four typos. This is one of the few books I wish I could get my money back.
