Rating: Summary: The Philadelphia Murders Review: At the suggestion of another book club, our book club read this book for the month of October. Several members could not even finish the book it was so poorly written and the ones that did, couldn't believe that the book was even published. Aside from the bad grammar, it was just a poorly written book. Don't waste your time.
Rating: Summary: The Philadelphia Murders Review: Book buyers here's a book for you. Richard Heard's The Philadelphia Murders had the hair on the back of my neck standing straight up several times! The search by Philadelphia Homicide detectives of the killer who's doing his evil in the park is more drama/and suspense than i've read in quite sometime. quite a few people die before police restore order to the beautiful greenery of Fairmount park(where the victims are found) The two lead Homicide detectives, Lou James and Marvin Stubbs personel lives also hinder the case as one(Lou James) commits adultry on his wife and the other detective(Marvin Stubbs) battles alcoholism. Amozon book readers this ending in the Philadelphia Murders will have you shocked dazed and exhauted in utter amazement. Kudos to first time author Richard Heard.
Rating: Summary: The Philadelphia Murders Review: For the sake of all the readers out there TAKE A ENGLISH CLASS!! The grammer in this book stunk. It was pretty bad I must say. The story could have had held your interest but again I must say the English language was totally misused. Nice try!! but try again after English class!!
Rating: Summary: Did a seventh grader write this? Review: This book was recommended by a book club for me too, and since I love a good murder mystery, I jumped at the chance to read it. At $14 I expected a much larger book but figured the story would move quickly since it was not that long. I couldn't even finish this book. It is SO poorly written, and the grammar is SO bad, I had to stop midway. It is impossible to keep up with the timing in the story, the characters' names are repeated in full every time they are mentioned, and the dialogue sounds like a sixth grade school play. You know it's bad when one of the victims of a serial killer is the investigating detective's sister--and you don't even care who did it. Don't waste your money.
